It will disable all keypad keys. sudo sed -i '15s|.*||' /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/pc \ && sudo dpkg-...

It's a tricky one.
Run this command to open a file:

Code: Select all

xed admin:///etc/default/keyboard
Change XKBLAYOUT="us" to XKBLAYOUT="fr" and restart the computer.

Which keyboard layout have you chosen during installation?

Re: Problem with circumflex and accents with French keyboard

Of course this is possible - but before you tamper with system and country settings, you should already know how the system is set up at all... Re: Problem with circumflex and accents with French keyboard

Any keyboard layout can be remapped. Choose one layout (for example "German (Switzerland) French (Switzerland, no dead keys)") and write which letters you want to add and in what position. For example:
ê = ł (ê instead of ł)

Finnish keyboard layout:
AltGr + 7 = {
AltGr + 0 = }
AltGr + 8 = [
AltGr + 9 = ]

Re: LM 19 (Tara) setting default language

How do you tell Linux Mint that one should be default but that the other should be used as well (I think that's necessary for the interface). Interface and input language are two separate things so you can remove English (US) keyboard layout. To modify your default layout chosen during installation...
