Re: LM 14 to 15 in place upgrade - reads Ubuntu

I just did the in place upgrade... Note: remember to disable the screensaver and the sleep-timer! I was lucky that my upgrade went as well as it did, considering the PC turned off in the middle of the DistUpdate step! Turned the box back on, switched to a new screen, logged in, killed the screensave...

Re: HOW TO: Brother 32/64-bit Printer Drivers (and AirPrint!

Hi jobrimal To make the file executable, you can either right click on it in the GUI, choose Properties, and check the box that says 'executable' in the PERMISSIONS tab, or at a command line type "chmod +x brdpkgdeldep.sh" and hit enter. To navigate to the folder, if you used Firefox to download the...

Re: HOW TO: Brother 32/64-bit Printer Drivers (and AirPrint!

For printers other than the Brother, (mine is a networked HP2025c laser), I followed this link, and ran the printer-sharing generation script for Airprint. The last mile though was the golden nugget here about allowing Sharing in the CUPS web menu. As soon as I did that, my son's iPOD started stream...

Re: Cinnamon 1.3 released!!

Hi Clem Thanx for working so hard at making gnome-shell usable to point of forking it, and improving on so many shortcomings! I really look forward to Mint 13 and seeing the whole package in its Glory! V1.2 of cinnamon was fantastic , and all-but bullet-proof. Sadly 1.3 was(is) a bit buggier. The gn...

auto-update

I have done a few searches and haven't found any answers that will really help me... I would love to have the updates that MintUpdate applies done automatically (ie with no intervention by me). I have checked the 'apt-get -u update' line I found in a thread as a test, and it was going to do a lot mo...

[SOLVED] mintMenu not closing when starting app

Hi all If I remember rightly, Clem posted a note on this issue in the v6 to v7 conversion thread, however I have tried those steps (can anyone help me find the link? it's well and truly buried now, and I'd like to double-check my steps). So assuming I didn't miss anything, does anyone have any other...

Re: Promotional material

as I'm not one to use bumper stickers because they are way too permanent (ie selling the car), how about rear-window plastic static stickers?

Gloria upgrade - Video issues, amarok won't play

Sorry for the cross-post. I didn't see this thread initially. I just upgraded my laptop from Felicia to Gloria (32 bit). The upgrade ran very smoothly (i followed the command line steps). However now my graphics are hardly going at all. 3d compiz affects are largely a thing of the past, and the coup...

Mint7 Intel graphics

I just upgraded my laptop from Felicia to Gloria (32 bit). The upgrade ran very smoothly (i followed the command line steps). However now my graphics are hardly going at all. 3d compiz affects are largely a thing of the past, and the couple of games I have installed such as Chromium are at a crawl. ...
