Re: Radio Error message after installing RadioTray

Yes I installed it via Software Manager. I have un installed it the same way and reinstalled it. It is in the main menu with the correct blue Radio Tray Icon. When I open it the App name appears in the Tray at the foot of the screen. At the same time a pale grey icon (not the radio tray one) appears...

Radio Error message after installing RadioTray

I decided to give Internet radio a try and downloaded RadioTray. It has installed OK (sort of) but when I try to open it it just sits in the Panel and I can't actually get it to display to do anything with. There is an error message sitting in the bottom panel which when opened says: Radio Error gst...

Re: USB attached external drives not recognised(SOLVED)

So sda and sdb are both internal drives ? Were the external drives connected? Solved. I used "brute force" (just unplugged the drives without unmounting) Rebooted the machine, plugged in the drives and they "automagically" appeared.. Now they seem to be working fine, Strange as they worked fine bef...

Re: USB attached external drives not recognised

I posted results from both - Internal drives are 136.7 & 64.4 gb Scsi drives and they appear OK if I look under Dolphin. Everything went smoothly until I installed Mint 17.3 KDE. I'm afraid I am a bit of a Numpty so far as Linux is concerned although I have used it for many years. Thanks for taking ...

USB attached external drives not recognised

I finally upgraded from Mint 12 to Mint17.3(KDE) even though 12 was working fine. Previously I had 2 external hard drives attached and could add and remove(eject) them without any problem. With the latest install I have been unable to get my PC to recognise when I plug in either of the external driv...

Re: RESOLVED Help wanted accessing 2nd SCSI Hard Drive

As suggested I checked with gparted and it was "Unallocated". I formatted it to NTFS ( i have no idea whether EXT3 or NTFS is preferable ) and lo and behold it now shows under Files so I can save to it. :D: When I try to open it under "Computer " it also opens however the other drive still gives me ...

Re: Help wanted accessing 2nd SCSI Hard Drive

Hi Mute Ant, Thanks for the quick reply I originally copied the files off both SCSI drives and then wiped/repartitioned them both with Gparted. Next I tried installing Mint KDE but, although it installed, the Graphics looked weird so I decided to try Cinnamon rather than faff around trying to sort i...

RESOLVED Help wanted accessing 2nd SCSI Hard Drive

Hi, I have just upgraded from Mint 12 KDE but as the graphics seemed to be faulty on my machine after trying to load the KDE version I eventually installed Mint Cinnamon 17.2 instead. My PC is a dual xeon processor CPU with 2 x SCSI hard drives installed - the machine was a disposal item from work s...

Re: Cinnamon Panel Gone, Windows Missing Close/Minimize.

Try this Open terminal and execute: metacity --replace I'll try that as I had the same problem after loading Cinnamon on my wifes PC - finally got her to move from Windoze!!! She does not know I am having problems yet so hopefully I can sort this before she finds out and turns off. I also noticed t...

Thanks veggen.

Details in the link are not quite correct but there was enough there for me to get everything sorted. :D

I wonder how long I can run with this version before I get the urge to upgrade again

Re: Can't get past login screeen in Mint KDE

Thanks for the quick response - I'll try that tonight and see how I go. Fortunately, other than file access so that I can move my files to the new machine I am only stuck for emails.

Can't get past login screeen in Mint KDE

I have been running an early version (darnyia) of Mint KDE since release and until now it has worked fine but I had just decided it was time to upgrade to a later version along with another PC. I know folks will say I should have done it earlier but I guess thats a testament to Linux Mint and its re...

Re: Mint 6 asks for password during install

Exactly...I have never had that happen before. I even repartioned the hard drive and refomatted it using Gparted and then inserted the Disk and same thing happened. I have used heaps of other Live CDs and done subsequent installs but this is the first time that I have experienced this problem. Tried...

Re: Mint 6 asks for password during install

I wish it were that simple. There is NO live CD option. I put the DVD in the drive and it automatically installs with no input from me. Finishes with a screen asking for logon and password - which I obviously don't have. However I have managed to switch to a terminal screen by selecting anot...

Mint 6 asks for password during install

Currently trying to install Mint 6 on my Acer Laptop. I reformatted the hard drive and installed WinXP as I needed to install it for a specific purpose. Have now decided to revert back to Mint 6 KDE. Inserted the disk - purchased from On-Disk and booted. Everything worked fine up the point where it ...
