SOLVED: Why only outdated versions of Thunderbird?

I changed everything over to IMAP. Appeared to be the easiest route.
Thanks for the suggestion. :D

Why only outdated versions of Thunderbird?

I dual boot and there are days when I must remain on Windows all day. Hence, I check my email on TBird while in Windows. This is fine, until I switch back to Mint - where I used to be able to copy/paste the TBird profile from the Windows version to the Mint version. I can no longer do this, as the M...

Why would I want to run Linux inside Windows?

I run Mint for the security and simplicity of the OS. Why would I want to muddy the waters by running it inside of Windows 10? Seems to me, you are defeating the purpose of using Linux in the first place by having it anywhere near a Windows OS. Is there something I am missing? Currently I dual boot ...

Re: How can I lock audio selections

That appears to have fixed the problem. I rebooted and it stayed where it was supposed to.
Thank you very much. I would have been totally unable to solve this problem on my own. I just do not have the background.

How can I lock audio selections

Every time I reboot, I must reselect my audio input and output choices. Because I dual boot several times a day, this is a real detractor from using Mint 20. How can I make my selections permanent - so they will survive a reboot? Thank you.

Re: Is this the best way to fresh install windows 10 + mint?

Sadly, there are still a few Windows only programs out there that I need. TurboTax Quicken Print Shop Front Page (when I am to lazy to write my own HTML code) several amateur radio programs - I can do without, but do enjoy from time to time Others have been mitigated by using Wine or coding my own s...

All software cloning is problematic. Hence, I use hardware cloning only. Never any failures.

Re: Moving Thunderbird profile to older version

The easiest fix is to update the version that is in the repository. It is also the safest method of updating.

Firefox update needed in the repository [FF 72.0.1 arrived in the repos only the same day]

Saw an article in PC Mag site this AM regarding the need to update to version 72.0.1. When will that be available on the repository? Or, will that linger as does updates for Thunderbird? The lack of compatibility between TBird versions is a serious problem. This question is regarding the repository ...

Re: Print shop alternative

PrintShop can produce foldable greeting cards. I have found nothing even close to it for Linux. Hence, I have a dual boot machine for the times Linux falls on its face in the software department. I also use Intuit software for taxes and checking accounts - again, nothing similar that will operate in...

Re: Thunderbird 68.3.1

It can be done - I installed the flatpack version. Then copied the profile from Windows, pasted it into the appropriate Mint directory and modified the install and profile files to reflect the name change.

Now works fine.

Re: Thunderbird 68.3.1

I did follow the instructions as I found them from your email. It did install the proper version. That said, I was unable to convince it to accept the profile from the Windows version. For years I have been able to transfer the profile (same name) from Linux to Windows as I needed. Yes, there are ti...

The only way out I have found that actually works is to boot into Windows and wait and wait and wait until the repository catches up with the real world.
