I tried LMDE4 several times and the only way I found to eliminate the feeze problem was to wipe and put in a fresh Mint cinnamon 20.3. never had the problem anymore.

Finally fixed the Dell. Reinstalled LM. Had to use a fresh DVD with external DVD. Then I reinstalled in secure mode it would not go to the legacy.
