Re: Evolution email - error message

I know you mean well, but I just didn't want to fiddle with it. I just installed Thunderbird and uninstalled Evolution. It works, after all. Thanks anyway.

Re: Evolution email - error message

I did try using the export G_TLS_GNUTLS_PRIORITY="NORMAL:%COMPAT:+VERS-TLS1.0" ; evolution command, and it worked once. I'm getting error messages: (evolution:21783): Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to register client: GDBus.Error:org.gnome.SessionManager.AlreadyRegistered: Unable to register client (evoluti...

Re: Evolution email - error message

Do I have to uninstall the version of Evolution I have now? Or can I install over it?

Please Help me turn on my Microphone! [Solved] (To my relief!)

Hi all, I'm running Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.3 and I swear everything works fine. The only thing is, I'd like to turn my microphone back on. It's plugged in and I can hear it when I tap it with my fingers through the speakers, but I can't get an applications to see the microphone to use it. I know it'...

Re: How to blur out certain info on screenshot?

Open the image that you want to post in Gimp or a similar program. Find the portion you want to obliterate, obliterate it, then save the file and export it or save over the original copy or rename it as #2 if you want to keep the original. Then close Gimp. Open the same image up in another image pro...

Landing page login and register links gone![SOLVED Never Mind I figured it out]

Since 2016, I've been using https://forums.linuxmint.com as a landing page and clicking on the login there. Today, however, both the Login and Register buttons are missing from that page, at least until I click on a topic, then on the page I've clicked on has the login link. I was wondering why this...

Re: Double Trouble

HEY! Deleting off the Xclock autostart seems to have fixed my 'double-trouble' problem! I also DO like the "Analog Chronometer" although it doesn't have any options to have it show on top like xclock would do.
Thank you.

Re: Double Trouble

I've tried all of the available desklets. All I want to know now is why I have two copies of Saytime and six copies of Redshift running on restarting of Xorg. That's all that's wrong, really. By the way, thanks for fixing my first link. It hadn't occurred to me what I'd done wrong, but you fixed it,...

Double Trouble [SOLVED]

I had been looking for a desktop clock that looked nice and was resizeable. I 'had' been using Cairo-Clock, but then I saw the XClock in https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=206&t=307724&p=1731814&hilit=xclock#p1731814 so I thought I knew what I was doing and initially copied xclock & disown...

Actually, I've seen that before on a monitor that's going bad. The entire machine might not be bad. Switch to another monitor if you can before doing anything else.

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

I'm still somewhat of a gamer, and I'll listen usually just to game sounds, but for something besides the sound of my electric air filter, I'll listen to https://rewoundradio.com while I'm gaming sometimes. While driving, I have an mp3 player to play stuff over the car's FM radio, as I still can't t...

Re: When will this forum site get a new modern design?

I say over and over in my everyday life, that 'newer' isn't necessarily 'better' and if it's not broken, don't bother fixing it! That's my opinion, like it or lump it! :) I like this site the way it is now as of Sunday, December 15, 2019. I thought it was bad enough to switch the background colours ...

Re: favourite email client

When I first used Linux, for about a year, I used Ubuntu and Evolution. That was probably in 2009, and before I learned to update regularly and often. But I remembered Evolution and how well I liked it, from that experience. It seemed to me that Thunderbird, when I was using it with Linux Mint Cinna...

Re: I hate ricing? Does this mean I'm turning into a grumpy old man?

I *will* put people on ignore that do this seemingly without thinking. 1 1 was a racehorse, 2 2 was 1 2, 1 1 1 1 race, 2 2 1 1 2 Bye. :?: Why?!?! Just to call me on it?!?! Sheesh. I meant I usually do this when chatting, or in my online gaming. Not here, for pete's sake. I know someone here would '...

Re: I hate ricing? Does this mean I'm turning into a grumpy old man?

I just can't stand to try to read the text of people that seemingly 'have' to use numbers as words, and abbreviate every other word in regular text conversation, that is, in game chat. Grrrrr! Just reporting on a pet peeve, that's all. I *will* put people on ignore that do this seemingly without thi...
