Re: Suspected RAT on Mint Laptop

I had something similar happen when I switched from a heavy maxicrap laser mouse to my present Logitech mouse. That is, I have my keyboard and mouse resting on a tilted table that I can adjust the height on. Until I made a cable holder to keep the mouse cable from pulling the mouse down, I kept seei...

Re: Where in Mint is the "default browser" setting set?

I think you want "Preferred Application" in Preferences, which is Menu/Preferences/Preferred Applications. I hope that works for you! :)

Re: Anyone got any interesting hobbies?

My favourite hobby is tinkering around in my basement workshop either making things from the wiring I've been accumulating over the years, or making something out of my woodpile. If all else fails, I'm sure something will fall apart and I'll have to fix that. I could list all the things that have fa...

Re: Latest hack on Win 10 users.

Updates only twice a year?!?!
A Microsoft spokesperson said: “Windows Updates will be delivered twice a year.

"We look forward to delivering the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update to our millions of Windows 10 customers beginning October 17.”

Wow, that really sounds totally overconfident...

Re: Is this an Nvidia graphic card glitch or is it my computer getting too old?

I thought I might bring up again that it's possible that your monitor could be going bad. Just to find out, try the monitor in question on any other computer you have available. The monitor that I had, had done it with me done it once, then went to working well for a few months, then started doing t...

Re: Is this an Nvidia graphic card glitch or is it my computer getting too old?

I've actually had an issue really similar to that with an old monitor. Actually, I think it's your video card giving you problems. Make sure the fan is working on it. If it isn't, it is possible (as long as you have a desktop computer) to use a wire clothes hanger to prop up a case fan to blow into ...

Log File Cleanup? [SOLVED]

Due to what I've found out recently, I need to clean up some unnecessarily large log files.Kern.log, sys.log, and ufw logs are all too large. I've found a possible solution, but I believe it's two years old, and I'm not certain the script will work for Linux Mint Cinnamon 17.03. So, I'm asking here ...

The Case of the Vanishing Free Hard Drive Space [SOLVED]

I had just posted earlier today about finding a possible solution to my drive (/dev/sda1) apparently losing free space. It was upon finding a possible solution that the mentioned hard drive went from 132.4 gigs of free drive space back to 144.7 gigs of free drive space. It hasn't stayed there either...

Just One Problem [SOLVED]

It's been a few months now since my last major calamity with my computer and don't get me wrong, it's still working fine.I swear everything is working just fine. Re: Soldier of Fortune OpenGL error on Wine

Try using the 'debug' option to start the game with Play On Linux to get a more detailed report of the problem. After you get that run, copy and paste it here. I should admit, I personally probably won't know the answer, however there might be someone either here on on the Play On Linux forums that ...

Re: I'd like to learn how to play an electronic keyboard. Please.

There's a book that I thought would help me out in learning how to play this keyboard. It's called "PortaSound Playtime Teach Yourself Book".I've searched for this book numerous times, only to find nothing. The only reference I've found to this book is in the operating manual of the PS-200...
