Thanks, I went ahead and created the ext4 partition out of the unallocated space, and did the backup with Rescuezilla. Everything went almost fine but something happened with my pre-existing backup partition. Will explain as soon as I figure out the scope. Doesn't appear to be a big problem

I dont currently have the external drive space to hold my backups that are on sdb so I'd rather not wipe the whoie sdb if I can avoid it. Foxclone won't me just use part of it? I know Rescuezilla can but I' ve never used it either
