SD Cards

Occasionally I stumble across a Micro SD card, My Linux Mint cannot see it. Window's and MAC, same thing. We have one of each. But if I boot up to Puppy Slacko, plug in the SD, works fine. Anybody care to elaborate on what this means, My daughter says,,Puppy is a Medium, and talks to dead drives.......

Laptops with limited Resourses

Has any one of you used Linux Mint on older PC or Laptop?
I have a 4 year old ASUS laptop, running Puppy, its great but I miss some of the nice stuff in the full blown Linux.
I was running Ubuntu, it felt heavy, is Linux mint about the same as Ubuntu?
I am open to other suggestions.

I ran into an issue with an SD card just now. Linux Mint could not see it, Ubuntu 16.04 could not see it, MAC OSX could not see it, Windoze 7 could not see it, and last Windows 10 computer cannot see the card. I booted Puppy Slacko,,,,,,stuck the drive in got the data, sees everything on the drive. ...

I've been running Thunderbird for so long, I forget there is anything else.

I found this email company, mail.com that lets me choose a suffix from a large list, like XXX@bikerider.com, or other choices, it is also very secure. I use the free version.

I connected mine, and it shows up as a camera, and I can drag pictures back and forth, nothing else.
I still have an iPad, does same, got rid of iPhone.

I have to add this, YES, I have Chirp on my 17.3 Rosa, installed and works right off the bat. LOVE IT.

Chirp works BEST in Linux, This is one for us.Now my HAM buddy wants to put Linux on his PC.

Reading posts I see issues I have had before.
I have found, sometimes my disk I burned with Linux didn't work quite perfect, had to download a new copy.
I have also had faulty CDROM drive cause issue.
When I reboot right after install I have gotten error codes, ignored them, and bingo, have a problem.

Mint Sara, 64 Bit,,,USB,, I don't know,,,,,, Any way you would consider Puppy Slacko? That dog will sniff out that USB and get right after it. The latest Puppy is quite a system.
