Like @Packa, I too have switched to alternative browser (vivaldi) as Firefox is not usable at all, crashing the entire machine. Unfortunately, I don't have any insight on how to solve this. I also observed that in some cases, Thunderbird (with Lighthouse) will also crash the machine, requiring a har...

I just want to add that turning Use Hardware acceleration in Firefox to OFF didn't help. To me, Firefox still crashes - while moving mouse around, nothing intensive. This didn't happen before the last upgrade (it actually never crashed and I had like 30-40 tabs open). I do, like OP, has an ATI based...

I am confirming, that after last update I am experiencing Firefox freezing. Actually the whole system freezes and hard reset is needed.

To me it is happening on random pages, not only youtube (while having several tabs open). Had no problem whatsoever until the last apt-get upgrade.
