Re: Disable Touchpad - does this work?

Thank you for that.

I think you misunderstand. I can disable the touchpad via the settings, but it is still in operation when I log in. Once I have done so the setting kicks in and disables it.

I wanted to know how to disable on the log in screen, as currently it is active.

Password Managers

Can someone cast a critical eye over this:

https://www.enpass.io

I'm currently using Passwordbox for both Windows and Linux with a Chrome browser extension. It's due to end soon for both Windows and Linux, I'm looking to change.

Mint Mate App Icons & Icons Generally

Can anyone tell me what the drop shadow is for the mint mate icons, as I wish to edit and create some of my own. I guess I need to know the radius of curved corners. Also anything relevant needed to know when creating them.

This is interesting: I only play one game at this level of graphics so exploration of this issue will be of great benefit in understanding what is going on. To recap: a 3D Flash game that play fines in Windows 7. Firefox very poor quality graphics in the game I play, but just about playable. Chrome ...

Re: Security and Firefox

This is a how-to for installing and using Firejail that's not as comprehensive as the how-to of xenopeek, but intended to be even easier: https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/sandbox OK that's great. I notice that Shockwave plugin fails when Firejail runs, I assume this is normal. Do ...

Re: Boot / Grub / Moving machine / USB Card

If you mean using your 64bit machine to install Mint 32bit from a live USB/DVD to a second USB to use that on the 32bit machine; why would you do that? Running the system from a USB stick will probably be slower and the USB might wear out quick. Yes I do mean this option. But! Currently running off...

OK that's great. So a kind of protective environment. Looks like some reading to do then. Hmm looks comprehensive, not sure which version to download? So would that be the latest version at the top of list: firejail-0.9.40-rc1.tar.bz2 I have an Intel 64 bit machine Kernel: 3.19.0-32-generic x86_64 (...

Boot / Grub / Moving machine / USB Card

Been happily breaking my installs as a newbie. I look after another windows machine for a family member that we hope to eventually run Linux Mint MATE on. The machine is 32bit. Now if I create the install on my 64bit machine, on a USB card with the 32bit ISO, will this break the grub. I think...
