Re: <Solved> Streaming from laptop to Samsung Smart TV

Re: Thank you to those supporting others here!

Thanks to phd21 for helping me get my laptop and tv talking to each other.

Just a quiet suggestion with a couple of hints and tricks and not only did I solve it, I understood a lot more about the problem and solution.

Re: Streaming from laptop to Samsung Smart TV

Found both the problem and the solution. Something else was using port:5001. Having read the help file on PMS there was a note under: Network settings (advanced) Force port of server By default PMS uses TCP/IP port 5001. If this port is already in use, set a free alernate port number like 6001 I cha...

Re: Streaming from laptop to Samsung Smart TV

Thanks for the reply, phd21. I hit a snag trying to use Software manager and SPM finding PS3 Media Server. Neither of them found it when I searched for it. However, going to the Offiical Site sent me to Sourceforge to get the pms-1.90.1-generic-linux-unix.tar.gz Having downloaded that I opened it an...

Re: screen ouput to hdmi TV

Although I can't explain why it happens, holding the windows button + P cycles through display outputs while a HDMI cable is plugged in. Laptop display only TV display only Both displays. etc. One of those does what peterhw describes, but hitting that combination again seems to move to one of the ot...
