Those did not work, what I did was delete the account and close kmail, then add the account again...we are good now.

Re: Kmail newbie's mail AWOL on !8.2 Sonya KDE.

I have logged out and back in, restarted etc. Still there.

Thunderbird works fine, but that takes away from the point of installing KDE in the first place if you can not successfully use KDE apps.

Re: Kmail

It seems I have two accounts.

I have 18.2 KDE and have set up my imap account in kmail. All emails have downloaded and populated the folders, but the stupid kmail splash screen won't give way to being able to read the emails. Any ideas or fix will be appreciated please.
Thanks

I have the same issue, just the Kmail splash screen is where the emails should be showing. Hover over the folders and they have downloaded I just cant turn the splash screen off.

Re: Linux Mint 18 “Sarah” KDE released!

With this POS HP, I have wasted far too many hours attempting to get a good solid working desktop free of kernel panic due to AMD drivers, Ubuntu seems to have that fixed so this HP is sticking to it. Thanks everyone for ideas.

Re: AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6

That same driver amd64-microcode should be available to LM 18 but after looking at Synaptic Package Manager that is for AMD CPU's and not the graphics but there could be something else involved if you have an AMD CPU also I know I installed it on 18 but still got the "rendering using excessive cpu"...

Thanks, I did and it is NOT. The odd thing is though the amd64-microcode driver works on ubuntu 16.04

AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6

My HP Pavilion with the AMD A10-8700P Radeon R6 will run 17.3 with some coaxing to get the right driver through the Driver Manager. I have attempted to load the live Sarah cd and have had success when adding 'nomemdeset' to the grub boot line. I am leery to install as I see no alternative in the 18 ...

Re: Linux Mint 18 “Sarah” KDE released!

I have not used KDE since the days of Lycoris, I am really liking this, very mature and kind of feels like home again. Nice job. The only negative, is the KDE gear icon to launch app, that should be LM

Re: Hardware Detect 17.3 vs 18

The nomemdest allowed to install, but we still need gflrx to rid the pop up of no video drivers installed and to fix the 800x600 aspect ratio.

17.3 is back on and working.

Re: Hardware Detect 17.3 vs 18

I had not seen this, thank you. A google did show me the nomodeset trick to log it in, but then I did the hardware detect. I will follow these instructions and see how it goes. Thanks Have you read the Release Notes for Mint 18 ? Take a read of the section (down the page a bit) about AMD/ATI drivers...

Hardware Detect 17.3 vs 18

i have an HP Pavilion 17" made for Windows proprietary laptop. That being said after many different attempts to install Sarah have failed due to the video drivers. I can install mint 17.3, initially the screen resolution is out of wack and a warning about the video drivers not being install flashes ...

Re: Linux Mint 18 MATE review...

I have been using 17.3 for a while and after a rocky start, (90% of which was my own learning curve), and trying SuSe, Ubuntu, PCLOS, Fedora, Zorin, and a few others in KDE, Gnome, Cinnamon, Mate, LXDE and Xfce flavors, I found they all had strengths and weaknesses. For my older model Toshiba Satell...

Re: Panel Bug

At first: Why a new thread? I saw no response on the original post, because I had marked it solved, and suspected like 90% of the posts are user related not knowing what Im doing kind of posts. I searched for an area to report 'bugs' and found non. This I discover is a "real bug' that is duplicable...

Panel Bug

I just wanted to start a new thread on what may be a bug in resizing the panel. From https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=223889 this tread what I thought was an update problem, actually turns out to be a bug in resizing the panel to increase the height. When that is set to a higher val...

Re: Latest update Borked my update appelet

I removed {SOLVED] as I believe this may be a bug. I have installed in on my 17" screen laptop and the panel bar for my old eyes is a bit small so I had increased the "hight" of the bar. The Update Applet and Dropbox Applet, both disappear after a boot or two on the larger panel height. When I reset...

Re: Latest update Borked my update appelet

Ok I did a panel>troubleshoot>restore default settings, and the Update Applet is back, but the dropbox applet has me still baffled.

Marking it solved on the update applet, I'll start a new one on the Dropbox.
