Only lacking internet access because I had no panels; not command line proficient enough via terminal to go to internet

I'd like to thank Fred Barclay and others who helped me restore my lost panels. I'm a newbie to Linux but have been very pleased with Linux Mint and especially with the help that is available from so many folks. Thanks!

"mate-panel" is definitely missing. Try this: sudo apt-get install mate-panel Thanks! That worked after a reboot. Hmmm... looks like (at least some part of) MATE isn't on your system anymore. But to be sure, can you run the following in terminal and post the results back? dpkg -l | grep mate You don't have internet on that machine, right?
