Re: Searching Mint Forums - A Better Way

Great idea! this made me think and I made a firefox search extension for the forum. I tried to add a direct link to the file but since ie7 (or later) and firefox 2 (or later) need a javascript line to install the search providers. you'll have to go to this page to install it

Re: Linux Mint will not boot....Problems with Xserver?

just to make sure you did run these commands :

Code: Select all

sudo mv /etc/X11/xorg.conf /etc/X11/xorg.conf-bak
sudo dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg
from the terminal when you boot from your hard disk and not from the live cd

Re: help me

in the terminal. right click in the folder (not on a file) and select open in terminal
alternatively instead of using the terminal you can go to the folder right click on the file, select properties > permissions > tick allow executing file as program. double click and select run in terminal.

Re: Missing Link

You can add or change and links to repositories in synaptic package manager > settings > Repositories. Or if you want to use the software sources program, you'll have to install the software-properties-gtk package.
hope that helps
