Re: Cannot boot Mint 18.3 on Win 10 dual boot system.
Thanks for the suggestions. But so far I'm unable to resolve the main problem: inability to boot into Linux. The problem it seems is related to this message produced by boot-repair-disk 3. “Locked-ESP detected. You may want to retry after creating a /boot/efi partition (FAT32, 100MB~250MB, start of ...

Cannot boot Mint 18.3 on Win 10 dual boot system.
Beginning several weeks ago, and for reasons I could not identify, I wasn’t able to boot into Linux Mint 18.3. I posted a question here, however the answers I received were unable to resolve the problem. After reinstalling Linux Mint 18.3, everything worked perfectly. But then yesterday, for reasons...

Re: Cannot boot Mint 18.3 on Win 10 dual boot system.
Thank you for your reply. My problem appears more complex. I can boot into Windows without a problem. But I cannot boot into Linux. Every time I try to boot into Linux, I receive the "emergency mode" error. My system is a dual boot running Linux Mint 18.3 and Windows 10 Specs. MSI Z170A Ga...

Thanks Oscar,Oscar799 wrote:When you have that output ready to paste click the "Code" box in the text window then paste your output between the tags
I wasn't sure how to use CODE. I thought perhaps it was only for commands, and did not include output from Terminal. I'll get the hang of this!

Hi I guess my system got messed up when I tried to fix my Broadcom modem on this computer, an HP 2140 netbook. I must have opened some repository that led to this problem. Re: trouble with mounting USB 2.0 NTFS external harddrives
Hi
I've tried that, but it didn't work.
My external USB 2 drives that are formated to Ex3 are recognized easily. But the NTFS volumes cannot be seen.
What's going on? I'd really appreciate some help!
Thanks again!
