Change Log

I want to keep a centralised electronic record of all changes made to my Desktop and Laptop. Currently, I record changes in a notebook. Can anyone suggest a simple way to do this ? Gnote seems to do this but how can I access the data from the other computer?

How are you transferring the files? I use Wifi FTP server on my phone and it shows the transfer taking place.

Try doing a search of this forum. One thing you could try is to uninstall Firefox and reinstall.

Skype on LM20

When I video call another user, my monitor shows me with the other user in a tiny circle at the top R.H.S. Should this not be the other way around?

LM19.1 - How can I set a permanent wifi connection on my laptop. When I start up I have to make my connection and enter password. Is there any way I can store this info?

HP printers need reinstall after shutdown LM19.1

I have 2 HP printers connected by wifi to my network. However, they vanish after a shutdown and have to be re-installed. I use HP setup in a terminal to do this. Why do they disconnect? This only started after a recent Mint update.

Re: HP Laserjet P1102w

After a regular Linux Mint update to 19.1, my HP printers no longer stay connected to wifi and I have to add them each time I start up. Any suggestions?

Re: HP Laserjet P1102w - Fixed

I followed this article as I stuffed up my printers by trying to upgrade HPLIP. Nothing worked so I upgraded to LM19.1 and that fixed everything. Both my HP Printers now print! :D :D :D

Re: Install LM19.1 failed twice - Fixed

Problem fixed. I have W10 on my desktop and the boot record has to be in a DOS partition. LM19.1 gives a warning during installation that you are about to install a UEFI version of Linux and Legacy Systems (W10) may not boot. I had to go to the BIOS and disable UEFI. After that, everything worked fi...

Install LM19.1 failed twice

I am running LM18.3 on a dual boot system with W10. My HP Printer stopped working and after trying various 'fixes' decided that I needd a fresh LM installation. I tried Mintupgrade which got about 75% done then looped. It was installing the Kernel or Grub. So I downloaded the ISO and tried installin...

Re: HP Laserjet P1102w

I have exactly the same problem after installing Hplip 3.19.6 on Linux Mint 18.3 on my Desktop. I have two USB printers, a Deskjet 3070A (Colour) and a Laserjet P1102w. The 3070A still works but the 1102 does not. It shows up in Admin/Printers but will not print anything. I have tried most things in...

Re: How To: Install and Configure for HP Printer

I have followed the instructions to install and configure an HP Printer. However, on running HP Device manager, It says 'No HP Devices Found'. Under 'Administration/Printers' it shows my HP Laserjet P1102w. Properties shows 'Sending data to printer'. However, the printer dos not print. This all happ...

LM19 Installation Failure

I downloaded the LM19 ISO and installed on an USB. This booted correctly and the Install ran perfectly until the end. I had selected 'install alongside current Linux' option and took all the defaults. At the end, I got a message 'Grub Installation Failed. You will be able to send a message to the de...

Re: [SOLVED] LM19 install failure UEFI

I downloaded the LM19 Iso to a USB and tried to install to my HDD. All went well until the end, "Grub installation failed" msg. It promised to let me send a message to the developer, but didn't. What next??
