yes.. and when you choose remove from panel or desktop its gone..
but if your hunting fewer mouseclicks then just use terminal and the commands !

no luck for me..
I killed my ubuntu mate trying to fix same problem
but when trying the diff advices i found my optimal soundsettings :p

wich i run in terminal whenever my soundsettings mess up untill i find a fix

sounds to me like you need to change your boot harddisk in biosmeny, take a look at this link:

Yep if u use any kind of winprogs you have 2 check for virus and malware...;) , cought me by the balls Download ie6 for w2k went fine, installation of ie6..black screen and my windows partition died Nice go with my head btween my as. Wine is working very well for me and with support from the install...

Some older games do work with a little fiddle..so check out your old cd´s and even diskettes (check wiki or at a museum;) with wine and dossbox and screenressolution set to 640x480 - use alt+enter for full screen installed i can play following games i have been succesfull playing: Games for Wine Zum...

This is sad..I lost 2 Linux Wannabe's becourse of this problem, had to reinstall their windowz :'(
Untill i can get a fix for this I'm keeping my Linux entusiasme for myself..

So quickest way workaround for me is to have A running terminal and when the sound defaults to analog run the command - pacmd set-card-profile 0 output:hdmi-stereo in the terminal. OR run the command - pulseaudio -k (have tried to disable the suspend-on-idle module in /etc/pulse/default.pa with no l...

Dang no luck !
doesnt help in ubuntu and mint mate 64 bit only temporary..
as soon as i switch resolution, play a dos game, sleepmode or screensaver starts, it deaults to analog output

tried cyb workarounds too, but no luck

same problem with hdmi/analog swtiching exists in ubuntu mate too..

Noticed Switching resolution and playing old games (lower ress) seems to activate problem

/etc/X11/xorg.conf on the lm 17.3 drive, doesnt exist and same in my pt running lm18 (showing hidden files)

my lm 17.3 with problem : /dev/sdb1 (mountet as usb drive)

Grub does not show (got 2 users) and I can't get to grub meny
only mintmeny shows and loops with warning of 10 seconds constantly (aut login on 1 user after 10 sec.)

I got the option to mount my drive as an usb disc if this is an easier approach ?
