Re: Cinnamon crashes with segfault

Sometimes one must update a system for the latest OS versions to work properly: Mobo: ASRock model: N68C-S UCC Bios: American Megatrends v: P1.60 date: 09/19/2011

Edit: it would be a blessing in your case just to move from dimoserver and it's forcedeth network ports.

Corsair H1000i (V2) water cooler under Linux

First the Corsair water coolers work just fine under linux without drivers. The pump runs full bore, the drivers let you play with the lights, and allows monitoring. You control the temperatures with fan speeds. I also don't use the fan cable the pump supplies. In my case the only thing that changed...

Re: (Solved) FDISK /MBR on LVM partition... work?

It's been long enough, so I fixed it. I don't run a raid nor ever have, how one drive became a LVM partition (raid) I'm at a loss. Grub sure didn't care for it and errored out with it in the drive line up, so had to be connected only when needed (AHCI hot swap). I've lost the link but found one pers...

Re: Cinnamon crashes with segfault

These are very hard to get a real answer on. Best one can hope for is how it happens and how one can fix or avoid it themselves. More often than not the one being helped figures it out and post back it was the printer being connected that never caused a problem before - so not mentioned or similar. ...

Re: Looking for a Colored Backlit Keyboard

Didn't view the links I've been down this path for the G19 (G15 stuff will work). The software for the G series has seen a few take up the project only to drop it, Lighting your keyboard was one that works, your just going to have to compile it. I can adjust both the mouse (G602) or keyboard in Wind...

Re: Cinnamon crashes with segfault

What I'd do is not install Mozilla-based javascript https://packages.debian.org/buster/libcjs-dev and the second system download Lenovo or Motorola drivers for your phone or not connect it to you system. I have a Lenovo phone myself and had no problems with it and Cinnamon. You might post that secon...

Re: Battery Indicator stuck at 100%

Hi, I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my Dell Inspiron laptop about two months ago, and everything was working fine until last week. I let my laptop charge completely when it was suspended, and then I resumed using it. I found that the battery indicator in the panel (the power management widget) w...

USB3 sticks are so much faster and easier to use. The only thing missing from these is where to stick the label.
Haven't even tried 3.0 yet. Have two cables (4 ports) but they will be rear mount, I'm waiting for a CD mount.

Re: Linux Mint Cinnamon 18.2 does not install Brasero

Wine and ImgBurn works for me http://www.imgburn.com/ and it's the best I've found. But I was all setup for it, all of my Windows stand alone's were on a separate device. A collection made over the years. "ImgBurn is not an open source application and there is no official package for Linux" http://w...

Re: Linux Mint Version for ASUS Eee PC 900A?

I was able to view robtex.com, amara.org is cloudfront.net (Got all three TLDs in on that one : ) ) If you don't use a hosts file make one up just to add 127.0.0.1 cloudfront.net or 0.0.0.0 cloudfront.net, almost all of the malware comes from there. It's also easier than putting them in one at a tim...

Re: Linux Mint Version for ASUS Eee PC 900A?

Finally pulled out the old Eee PC and want to upgrade the OS from the Eeebuntu that is no longer supported with updates. Tried to install the latest Mint Xfce version, but ran out of disk space. Any recommendations for a clean distro would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ASUS Eee PC 900A 4GB SSD 1G...

Re: Can I have windows move themselves when task switching?

It's almost a hack - but ctrl+Alt+Right Arrow key will switch through 1-4 default widows (Left arrow reverse) Ctrl+Alt+Up arrow key will display all 4 windows and their running applications, Ctrl+Alt+Down arrow key that windows applications spread out - you can then arrow key around to bring that ap...

Re: Cinnamon just crashed, running Fallback Mode

Hello everyone, As shown in the title my Cinannmon is all the time crashing now, directly after the booting. It's probably due to the fact that I switched the nvidia drivers used to something that looked more recent yesterday. (I think I switched from nvidia-358 to something like nvidia-8**). The o...

Re: External VGA Monitor?

Just one last one, and it's a punt, Go into your firmware and check settings for the video card. Nvidia EVGA GTX-760 and Mint Cinnamon here. Would this in the bios or somewhere in Mint? If Mint, how do I find it? It's become confusing and will take time to work out but using the word Bios will soon...
