Re: LMDE bad Btrfs config for Timeshift

Why are there two installers? Is the Calamares installer planned to replace the current LMDE one, or even the Ubiquity installer of Ubuntu-based LM? debian uses it's own installer (even Linus Torvalds complained about the debian installer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qHGTs1NSB1s) , the mint team...

Re: Wine Cinnamon 19

you need to start with a 32bit .wine folder if your application is 32bit (if you have a .wine folder you can rename it and run this command to test a 32bit version of wine)

Code: Select all

WINEARCH=win32 WINEPREFIX=~/.wine winecfg

Re: pclinuxos vs mint

no pclinuxos is similar to mageia/opensuse it uses .rpm packages and even if you know nothing about .rpm packages pclinuxos uses an old version of synaptic and you can install things in terminal with apt-get

Re: Applications asking for access to " default keyring"

these apps are not asking for root password. they are asking to hold passwords in the keyring. you can allow them if you want or just cancel everytime they ask for it. to check what you have in your keyring open Passwords and Keys > under view select any to see them all and the saved keyrings will b...

1: https://www.linuxmint.com/
2: http://www.linuxmint.com/

for me 1 is: This site can’t provide a secure connection uses an unsupported protocol.
ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH

for me 2 is: blank

what works is just typing linuxmint.com or https://linuxmint.com/

do you get the same reaction when you connect with a live mint?
I'm embarrassed but I don't quite understand what you mean by this?
just means boot the mint usb or cd that you used for installing mint. connect to the internet and see how the browser works
