Re: Firejail: Profile missing and where are my downloads

I am done. The only sensible thing to do: sudo apt-get --purge remove firejail hold on a minute. did you build firejail or download the .deb files? which version are you using now? i did never understand why people firejail their whole system with firetools and firecfg. i only use firejail with bro...

Re: Firejail: Profile missing and where are my downloads

i don't understand what you mean by getting files into another folder or why you would need to. if you change the way directory structure is intended, you are breaking the sandbox. the whole point of having firejail is that you have limited access to your computer. when i upload to imgur.com for a m...

Re: Firejail: Profile missing and where are my downloads

So i went to the SW manager which provides version 9.56.2 LTS. You say i shouldn't but it shows you are using the same firejail version 0.9.65. Thats the one from SW man... This is what i am running now $ firejail --version firejail version 0.9.56.2-LTS Compile time support: - AppArmor supp...

Re: Firejail: Profile missing and where are my downloads

use timeshift to create a snapshot in case you mess things up a better use of firejail is to build it manually and update it manually by doing the same commands every 2 weeks or so https://github.com/netblue30/firejail sudo apt-get install git build-essential libapparmor-dev pkg-config gawk git clon...

Re: Firejail: Profile missing and where are my downloads

when you use firejail it creates a sandbox for your browser so files can only be downloaded into directories the sandbox has open for you. usually that is in your Downloads folder. if you type file:/// in browser address then click home/ your user name user/ you can see the directories your browser ...

Re: Kernel 5.8.0 appeared today

seeing this thread on the front page roll i decided to try kernel 5.9.1 but both ukuu and kernel manager (gm10) failed. looking at https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/ for kernel 5.9.1 i see all amd64 packaged build successfully so i downloaded the parts i need and installed it using dpkg...

Re: Running TOR on Mint...

Thanks for the reply. Here is the website that I was hoping to follow. I'll just watch the video again and see if I can make it happen. https://www.keepitsimplebitcoin.com/how-to-install-tor/?utm_source=KISBitcoin&utm_medium=Twitter this guide has at least one typo. i use tor but i installed it by ...

Re: Running TOR on Mint...

i have no idea what you're trying to accomplish, which tor you're using and how echo runs in sudo mode. you have tor in /root but you are running echo as user which has no permission to access /etc/apt/sources.list.d/Tor.list: Permission denied i don't know how to echo or why curl needs to be run. a...

Re: Nano Adblocker sold (except Firefox version)

thanks Schultz for this info update. i knew there was bad blood between the UBO and Nano devs but i didn't think it would go this far. what is it with these app devs that sellout as soon as an offer is available. i guess when it comes down to it app developing is for for profit only, no passion or t...

Re: "A" Solution to "The Alcohol Problem"

I should try CBD oil but will discuss it with the pain clinician first. I'm on prescription tramadol along with other things for damaged abdominal nerve endings and have been for a few years. While they still work okay, if CBD can replace some of them without causing any side effects that affect my...

Re: Need help with Desktop Icons & Names

Clearly Cinnamon and Mate are different in how they deal with fonts. Mate has a thing called Font Viewer but I don't see no way in it to allow for scaling, or anyway else for the matter. So unless all41 has some suggestion/s of something to try I'm not sure what to try next. i used almost every des...

Re: Need help with Desktop Icons & Names

changing icons does nothing for icon text . you want the fonts section in settings. Fonts Section > desktop font but good luck trying to separate words grammatically. linux window development is not built on grammar and some names may run out of it's text box or not be centered. but you're in Mate,...

Re: Is there a way to remove the "games" section without removing the programs inside?

rightclick on the menu button (start button if you prefer) > configure > menu tab > open the menu editor >
you should have the menu applications and in the right side you have check marks for all your categories. just UNcheck Games but don't delete it

Re: PSA warning for men wearing chastity belts :S

Perhaps it would be better to just decide that its not really a problem - just an added feature? Yeah, would be good for people on the sex offender register I guess. They would need to make the belt out of something stronger than ABS plastic though so it couldn't be cut off so easily. Don't t...
