Re: Do motherboard drivers affect GPU and CPU performance?

yes most hardware firmware drivers for bios are made to run in windows this is where linux fall short. but depending how your motherboard support handles it you would need to find out how to install a bios, i never heard of .bss file but then haven't had much experience with new hardware. https://ww...

Re: Do motherboard drivers effect GPU and CPU performance?

yes it does if you you have newer hardware, but it is tricky to update motherboard bios because sometimes you may install a wrong one and break things. in my case i bought a new cpu and need a new bios for motherboard to recognize the full potential of new cpu. but my motherboard does not have any b...

Re: Location of p7zip application?

p7zip is the backend of an archiving protocol. you shouldn't need to run that if you have the frontend which is something like xarchiver but not sure what it's used in cinnamon . almost anything in usr/bin can be run in terminal by it's proper name so running in terminal p7zip will give you an erro...

Re: Crossover Linux worth the money?

IMO crossover is not worth the money. they haven't made any real progress in hardware support for devices such as Garmin GPS and similar or connecting cellphones. having a bunch of software scripts and only being able to handle 15,046 applications in database is hardly the money they ask for the one...

Re: TimeShift Question ...

you could probably do that ONLY you would need to edit a few things in the backup folder of timeshift like the /boot/grub/grub.cfg and the /etc/fstab to coincide with the new partition UUID. i'm sure there a a few more complications but can't think of them ATM Timeshift will not make a good portable...

Re: TimeShift Question ...

if you install 18.3 mint and you use timeshift to restore a 17.3 snapshot your system will now be 17.3 so if you have a new version of mint you'll need to delete all your older snapshots, unless you want keep them in case you decide to go back to your older version of mint

putlockers uses a bitcoin miner from coinhive.com >>> DO NOT USE THIS SITE a bitcoin miner site uses your own cpu against you to collect and mine bitcoins, which causes the cpu to be HIGH usage. most likely it doesn't work because you have some adblockers that block all misleading scripts which is a...
