your video card may need an S/PDIF cord plugged in to the motherboard s/pdif ... i'm experiencing the same issues i have video but no audio.

you put windows back by using a windows setup DVD/USB. you ERASED win10 by choosing the "erase disk and install" - you should not have done that if you didn't want win10 erased but win10 will not be installed on ext4 partition only ntfs, so the best option for you is to format your drive t...

try it then you will know. certainly you will not expect the installation to configure the hardware for the new computer unless they are all plug and play with the kernel installed on the hard drive you want to remove and install in a new pc.

The compiling and installation of the kernel is a side-project of mine, and I must do it the old fashion way and not through the update-manager.

boot with your live usb and see if you get sound.
