Re: upgraded from 20.3 to 21.3 and Screenshot app doesn't work

Thanks.

I pressed PrtScr key.
Not Shift-PrtScr
Not Alt-PrtScr
and was given the option where to save the file.

After that, when I start the Screenshot app started working as before the upgrade.

upgraded from 20.3 to 21.3 and Screenshot app doesn't work

The screen briefly flashes, but the screenshot PNG file isn't being saved.
In 20.3, it would ask me where to save it.
So, I thought it was being saved to Pictures.
Nothing there.

I did install Flameshot, but I would like to get Screenshot working.

random mount points for 3 USB flash drives

I have three (3) PNY 480 GB flash drives that are always connected to the same ports on my PC. Their mount points changes from one bootup to another. Sometimes, PNY #1 is mounted at /media/user1/PNY ELITE PSSD. Sometimes it is mounted at /media/user1/PNY ELITE PSSD1 . And more rarely it is mounted a...

If I can ping them via local addresses, I don't have to set up static IP addresses or anything like that.

local address works for only 1 device

I have two Raspberry Pi Zeros. Theire names have been changed to pi0a and pi0b to set them apart. I am able to ping only one of them using local address. Whichever is connected first and configured first is the one that local addressing works. I this instance pi0a is connected and configured first. ...

I plug in one device at a time. I ping pi0a.local , it is the only device and is usb0 . Then I plug in the second device and wait about 1 minute. I ping pi0b.local . Re: Mint 19 Tara avahi/mdns not working

And still not working in Mint 20.1 Avahi shows that it is running. I thought I was imagining things after I did a clean installation of Mint 20.1 and mDNS stopped working. So I boot into LiveUSB of 18.3 and change the Network Connection for the Raspberry Pi Zero to Link-Local for IPv4 and IPv6. I ca...

I have a Raspberry Pi Zero and a Raspberry Pi Zero W which have been programmed to behave as an Ethernet USB Gadget using this tutorial : https://learn.adafruit.com/turning-your-raspberry-pi-zero-into-a-usb-gadget/ethernet-gadget . xReader pdf blank when opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader (Win 10)

For this tax season, I downloaded PDFs from irs.gov. I opened the PDFs in XReader 1.6.2 and filled out the fields. Recently, I sent one of those PDFs to my bank via secure email. They told me that the PDF was blank. Sure enough, when opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader in Windows 10, the PDF was blank. Y...

Re: Can't find why laptop HP 6720s is terribly slow?

No explanation to this dichotomy. There is an explanation. The linux distro sitting on the live system is not the distro that gets installed. The two are similar but not the same. The live media is tuned to work on the widest possible range of hardware so it stands to reason that, while in most cas...

The flippant answer to the OP is that laptop is "too old".
Yet, it boots from the latest live USB.

No explanation to this dichotomy.

No promises - but it deserves a try. Well, it's preferable to my suggestion :) Perhaps you can explain to me why the live USB works well with video=SVIDEO-1:d but yet the permanent install does not. Which kernel is on the live USB of 19 xfce? Noone seems to be able to answer why the live USB actual...

Re: difference between live USB and installed Linux Mint

Well, the kernel option is in place, so that's not it. You didn't give us the systemd-analyze output (you included only the blame part) so it's not clear how long the kernel actually hangs, but your inxi output shows that you didn't install any updates, so maybe try that first, that might just fix ...
