Re: 3 monitors settings break when I put computer into suspend

Ok, so you lead me in the right direction, but the delay on the monitors was also causing issues. So what I found out is to have the one monitor set to auto detect input each time and the other that was messing up set to go to the correct input and not checked. It slowed down the one and sped up the...

Re: Root Directory Full in Less Than 12 hours of Having Linux Mint

Id reinstall and have root as well on the sd card. If you had a 32GB to play with I think could make it work, but 16 your going run into issues. I could see in short term how to do it, but just going run into other issues over time.

I'm curious to see how well running mintupgrade works, but I'll wait for the announcement. https://i.imgur.com/wqstVZy.png I was wondering if that was there or not just not tried it yet :P. My guess then is they are testing it or ran into some problems that they are fixing before they release the i...

issue executing shell files with XFCE

I feel like a noob on this. I use to be always able to after I marked shell script executable to be able to double left click on them and they would run. Now if I double left click on one it opens up my text editor. Is there a way to still change this in XFCE? I know course I could create a launcher...

Re: WINE & .NET Framework Installation

The default version is 64 bit, if I understand correctly, and I'm trying to change it to the 32 Bit version. How? Rename or delete your current one, then make a new one. Internet search on [create 32 bit wine prefix] --> 2nd result --> https://wiki.winehq.org/FAQ which says: "6.5.3 How do I cr...

Re: Ok, how the heck to get a .appimage to install, not just run?

I also have cura for my 3d printers and it does open and remember where it left off from last time. Must be a file permission issue. You could try deleting in .config the cura profile and see when it regenerates if it works correctly. Make sure the file shows the home user as own of the .appimage fi...

Re: I am looking for a software I don't know if it exists though

If your hardware is properly designed, there is no need to drain and recharge the batteries. That was something you did way back in the prehistoric past when people used different battery chemistry and thought 78 rpm shellac records where a great technological improvement. I am a bit perplexed for ...

Re: Mdadm resyncing + trying to shutdown Mint

Well need more technical information, but one of most common reasons for a resync is because the drives got out of sync from eachother which can happen for a number of valid reasons. When this happens they have to run all way through writing one drive to the other. You need to leave it on untill it ...

Just make a recovery DVD. Or flash drive so if need to you can wipe and restore the windows OS to it, but honestly you can just format it and just claim the computer don't work they wont know the difference and many computers have the oS mess up. Plus when they go to resell it they have flash a new ...

Re: Lifespan of HDD

IN answer to the OPs question as he did not ask anything about backing up. Here are a couple factors to check on a drive that will give you better odds of how much life. Granted its not a 100% guarantee as some drives just fail and have no warning. I have found over the decades that their are a coup...

ROFLMAO, that sort of stuff happens to the best of us and shows reasons for backups. Glad you were able stop it in time and did not have to take time to get the backups.
