Re: External Hard Drive won't mount

Hi, I'm a bit lost here. Do you mean the Windows System, or do you refer to something else? And what do you mean by it should be shut down? Forgive me my ignorance, but I'm relatively new new at Linux.

Error message upon start-up

When I switch on the computer, recently installed with Linux Mint 17.3, it gives me the following error message: keys: Continue to wait, or Press S to skip mounting or M for manual recovery.

What does this mean, should I re-install, or is it something else?

External Hard Drive won't mount

Hi there. I am wanting to move a second computer over to Linux Mint, and therefore backed up all the files I would like to keep onto an HD External Drive. Before installing Linux, though, I decided to check whether the file transfer went o.k. and whether I would be able to transfer all the backed-up...

Scanning for a Ricoh-Aficio-MP-C300 SRC MD: PS

I am busy switching all our office computers over to Linux by using Mint 17.3, Rosa Edition. Everything went more or less smooth. We have a network printer, a Ricoh-Aficio-MP-C300 SRC MD: PS. We can print perfectly from desktop to printer, but cannot scan at all. Is there a way to remedy this? I can...

Re: Linux Mint Rosa behaving strangely

Then it's Firefox. Also, just discovered an additional problem. My menu button as well as the button for switching off my system are missing. Do I smell foul play? Going to try and restart and see what happens.

Re: Linux Mint Rosa behaving strangely

I am using the Linux Mint Rosa edition. I went out this morning, leaving my Fujitsu Lifebook Laptop on. When I came back, all was chaotic. Whenever I wanted to click on the screen, multiple menu's of sorts came up. There were also over 400 tabs opened on the screen and 8 new unnamed folders were cre...

Re: Scanning from a Samsung SCX-4623F

I am still very new to Linux, so am still unsure how to do this. If I insert the installation DVD, it shows an icon on my Desktop saying SAMSUNG_MFP. Clicking on that, it takes me to a screen with a folder that says "Linux". Clicking on that, in turn, takes me to another folder saying "noarch". I si...

Scanning from a Samsung SCX-4623F

I have a Samsung SCX-4623F printer, and utilize Linux Mint Rosa on a Lifebook A544. I am able to print from my Laptop to my printer, but am unable to scan from my printer to the Laptop. Even though SimpleScan under the graphics Section picks my printer up, I am still unable to Scan and/or save to my...

Relatively new

Hi all, I am fairly new to the Linux community, and have decided to switch over to Linux Mint about three months ago. I made a rather drastic and dramatic switch by not even partitioning, but by formatting, rebooting and installing my new OS. This came about after concerns I had around my previous O...
