Re: How to vertically split the screen, pane?

I now do get it: I do have to place the cursor in the middle on top of the screen, hold the left mouse button down, and drag the cursor downwards, which results in the pane window being halved. If I do drag the cursor back up again, the split window expands to full screen again. It is just the trick...

Re: How to vertically split the screen, pane?

Indeed, I did try all of it, but there is no reaction! Surely, something must be missing!

Re: How to vertically split the screen, pane?

I have followed all the instructions, but none of the methods works on mate, there must be something else to make it function.

Re: How to vertically split the screen, pane?

This ought to be it, but Ctrl+super+arrow just do not have any influence: https://www.faqforge.com/linux/easily-split-screen-space-fit-two-windows-ubuntu-16-04lts/ The split screen works well for me and I use it often, however I never use the keyboard as I am a "point&click" type. How does your 'po...

Re: How to vertically split the screen, pane?

I do have mate, and 'window tiling' is not present. Can it be installed? I did try 'i3', but when I opt for it at login, I am not able to get past a black screen, and have to go back to 'mate' at login.

How to vertically split the screen, pane?

How do you split, or pane, the whole screen, not just the terminator/konsole screen? I did know it, but lost it. I could do it on mate, but not on cinnamon, what is the reason for this?

Re: I did lose my grub2, what to do?

Mint 19.2. I do have it on the HDD and on USB HDD, together with KDE Neon, and Linux Nanib. At start up, I do not get the grub menu, but a grub command line. Re: How to add an OS to the grub menu?

I did reinstall neon, and now the grub is complete, however the USB stick is still not good enough for neon, contrary to mint, it is too slow, i.e. too heavy, on a USB stick.

Re: How to add an OS to the grub menu?

Is there a possibility to redo the grub menu all over again? Then the system might be able to detect all operating systems, for the new grub menu.

On the grub menu I do have the option for KDE, but then I do get the errors:

/vmlinuz not found
you need to load the kernel first

How to add an OS to the grub menu?

I would like to add 'KDE neon' to the grub menu of linux mint, but I do not know how to do it.

This is the grub.cfg of neon:
menuentry "Start KDE neon" {
load_video
set gfxpayload=keep
linux /casper/vmlinuz boot=casper apparmor=0 quiet splash ---
initrd /casper/initrd.lz
}

256 GB Stick seen as 60,9 GB Stick, why?

USB stick 256GB is seen as 60,9GB, total capacity, and free : 265,5MB! Why is this? Filesystem type: ext3/ext4.
I did transfer the OS system on a 64GB stick to a 256GB stick by: sudo su -c 'dd if=dev/sdb | pv > /dev/sdc'.

Re: [SOLVED] How to Fix Brother Printer?

It would be helpful, for someone else, as well, if you told us what the complication was. Why did your system only print blank pages? What was the secret, why your printer, and scanner did not function on Linux Mint, whilst it did so on Windows! For you it may be called 'solved', but for us it is st...
