Re: Lock screen does not accept password

I have the same issue. I am currently evading it by logging into another admin user, changing my password (to the same as it already is), then using switch user to log in. This works, but it is cumbersome. I don't have libnss-ldapd installed, so I am not able to use that workaround. Very frustrating...

Re: <SOLVED> ASUS USB-N13 trouble

My issue was similar. The dongle worked, but the connection was very unstable. Perhaps 1 in 5 attempts to load a page would work. Frustrating to use. I used the above command to change channel, then rebooted. Now it seems to work quite well. There's still some occasional slow ping times. E.g.: 64 by...

I'm running Mint 18 with Cinnamon. Here's an example menu. It's the "save upon exit" menu from Libre Office. Win...

Re: Can't increase virtualdisk size and having trouble accessing terminal

I was able to increase the hard disk size using GParted. For some reason Virtualbox is not automatically expanding the disk size. A common issue/bug with that program that's been there for years. This did not resolve the issue with Cinnamon, however. I figured out what the issue was there too. When ...

Can't increase virtualdisk size and having trouble accessing terminal

I have an error with my virtualbox where it refuses to increase the virtualdisk of my Mint 17.1 installation. Once this hit 0 byte free at some point, Cinnamon got stuck in the perpetual, forever, repeatedly crash mode. Very annoying. If I stay in fallback mode, I cannot open a Terminal using CTRL+A...
