Which folder within /usr/share/themes are you speaking about to backup the current theme? All of them or a specific one (Default? Linux Mint?)?greengreen wrote: ⤴Sun Sep 05, 2021 7:13 pm
If you have a backup of your current theme, you may be able to use it in 20.3.

Thanks again phd21!
Was planning to install the app through the script but finally gave a go to the appimage. Looks like fine.
Not much apps as appimage so that they don't take much space, for now.

Re: Snapd in Update Manager.
The search within /File/History did not give any result. Still don't know how snapd came in.
Since nothing seemed to rely on snapd I removed the package and no problem so far.

Re: Snapd in Update Manager.
Thanks for the reply all41,
In point of fact the following package is installed too:
Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers <ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com>
The update requires to download another 20MB.

Snapd in Update Manager. [solved]
Hi, Hope it's not in the wrong forum. Using LM19.3 MATE. As far as I understood snapd is not supposed to be installed in LM20 and previous versions of LM. Wondering how comes that the snapd package is proposed in the updates and wondering how it was first installed. No application using "snap l...

Yes, MATE.
Had a look at the smplayer.desktop file, did not see the menu entry or anything related to that there. Let's wait for MATE users

Re: Open With for folders?
What I am trying to do: I sometimes open folders containing music files with deadbeef, when I right-click on a folder there is "Open with deadbeef" in the menu. Recently I opened a folder in order to play the files in smplayer, now when I right-click on a folder there is also "Open wi...

Re: Open With for folders?
Thanks Kester for your reply. Forgot to specify that I'm under LM19.3. The file manager is Caja. Yes, it's about managing the right-click menu for folders. Tried anyway what you proposed but there is no 'Configure custom actions' (or similar). Searches on the net did not give the appropriate answer ...

Open With for folders? [Solved]
Hi,
Sorry if it has been asked before but I did not find an answer here.
Where is it possible to manage the 'Open With' properties for folders? There is such tab in files properties, but not for folders.
Thanks.

Open a file from the panel? [solved for MATE]
Hi, Newbie question it is. Was searching about how to open a file from the Panel. There are some explanations in links like https://blog.softhints.com/linux-mint-add-shortcuts-panel/ , but it requires the panel launcher and 'Files' in Accessories that is missing in my LM 19.3 Mate. Tried with a shor...

Wondering what is going on with deadbeef.
Wondering what is going on with deadbeef.
Re: dsf files
Hi all, Read the same about deadbeef, but wondering if this player is reading these .dsf files correctly without DAC?!?! Or it might depends on the sound-card capabilities?!?! Edit: LM19.3 and latest deadbeef version (1.8.2), no DAC. Tried several output devices in the preferences, deadbeef is not a...

Re: FYI: qTox (Qtox) secure multimedia messenger installation
Now that several countries request their citizen to be confined, too bad to see that qtox does not propose any new version (latest from mid 2018) and any alternative to the very often (too often) mentioned skype.
