Re: I want to open files like .cue with my audio player, but I can't do it :(

As you give no further info: - does you player support CUE sheets at all ? Are you aware that CUEs are potential threats? Any file coming up as EXEC without your consent is potentially dangerous, see GNOME CUE backdoor. Now, who declared your CUEs EXECUTABLE in the first place ? That should not be t...

Re: Unknown, nameless folder on my desktop

I assume you were using a SanDisk device (e.g. from the U3 Cruzer series); part of their "service" is to copy the U3 framework app to every device the USB stick is attached to. It is annoying, at least. Just delete it.

Re: SD card has become read-only....

Unmount the card and eject it. Shut down your laptop completely (no warm reboot). Restart, when desktop is loaded, re-insert and check card access. If that does not work, the card is probably toast ("bad superblock" or similar).

Re: For LibreWolf and its fans - INFORMATION

That may all well be, but how does Librefox fare against Firefox when it comes to the one big biggy that keeps me WELL away from Firefox ... the constant reverting of user-made settings with each and every minor "update" ??? I mean, come on, the FF122 update not only reset my config yet ag...

Unmount / eject it. Power down your rig (no soft reboot). Start again, try accessing SD. If error consists, the SD is toast.

Punkt. Abweichende Speicherorte für eigene Da...

Re: Installation mysql and permissions

I may not be of assistance here but I really have to ask why people would install MySQL after the majority of people, tools and apps previously using it suddenly switched to MariaDB or PostgreSQL. There was a reason for that, after all. Just like one does not simply travel through Moria, one does no...

Re: How to run a Software in Wine?

I doubt HIKVision stuff will run under anything else than Windows as its firmware relies on being able to "phone home". WINE/Linux is far too restrictive and will not allow snooping. Don't forget that HIKVision is a CCP puppet and signs responsible for various blatant privacy intrusions, e...

Re: How to increase Bootable USB distro space

Grapejuice automatically installs Wine to your system and then installs Roblox. However, the Roblox installer tells me I don't have enough disk space. Last thing I heard was that Roblox don't work on Linux anymore because the anti cheat system blocks Wine. See also https://forums.linuxmint.com/view...

Might as well just take down the forum site then. I just wanted to know whether this was important and trusted, by other mint users. I see its security, but I didn't know what MOK is. The perfect example for why we are here : you are unable to look up stuff on your own and have to be told what to d...

Re: Some websites do not display properly; elements missing, LMC

I find it laughable that folks go on a hiccups course about different browsers, OSs and such when it is VERY obvious that the quoted VORO website is absolutely FUBAR; a buggy, badly scripted mess that causes dozens of warnings when tried to verify (duplicate IDs, double BODY element, trailing slashe...

What prereqs do you think I should add? Well, you *could* help to rule out basic problems, like ... is the adapter identified at all? As what and where? Do you have any info on which chipset is really physically present (as sales blurbs are unreliable as eff) ? etc. etc. etc. TL;DR: If you don't ca...

Re: Rhythmbox needs a bit of work.

As you can see from my signature I have a very strong opinion when it comes to music libraries under Linux: they are *all* trash, period. Worst of all is Lollypop which required over five hours to DELETE it's data on my files, effectively ruining a test SSD (reproducible behavior, no glitch) by step...
