Re: Linux Mint 19 Sleep Issues

Hi Rocky you aren't alone I can't get the energy saving to work IE make monitor sleep and system suspend after a certain period of time. I'm worse off than you because it simply won't work at all. I can get my machine to suspend manually but it would be nice to be able to walk away from my machine a...

Re: Kickin Sound System For your Linux Rig - Under $225.00

Pulse EQ used to be in the repos. I try to avoid PPAs since people can "alter" things. We only hope they are being helpful and benevolent. I frequent my local Salvation Army/Goodwill stores and from SA I picked up a Dell (Logitech) desktop speaker and sub kit for $19. Now the kicker: If you are usi...

Re: Fix for very low sound in headphones

This may be a fix or not depending on the sound card and hardware. I have a Asus Essense STXII. As an experiment to add a graphic equalizer i followed directions and even though the GE didn't work. One of the settings was to raise or lower impedance of the headset. I don't know if this was specific ...

Re: Kickin Sound System For your Linux Rig - Under $225.00

.... In Windows you can raise the impedance of the Sound Card Linux lacks that ability. The good thing is that Linux the drivers are more intelligent, while I couldn't adjust the Impedance the default was plenty to run my Audio Technica M50 Hurray! ... (though I disagree that linux drivers are more...

Re: Kickin Sound System For your Linux Rig - Under $225.00

Hi "TwoLeftThumbs", I too want to Thank You, and others for their replies, for providing this post and the very useful information. I think in Linux Mint 18.x that the Pulse Audio Equalizer is already in the repositories, but for Linux Mint 17.x you need the PPA. FYI: Installing "QasMixer" usually ...

Re: Kickin Sound System For your Linux Rig - Under $225.00

I want to thank you for taking the time to write that up. :) What I have done: I am using the optical out on my ASUS Pro MB. But I feed it through a Yamaha Receiver. I then have a Paradigm dual 10" Floor Sub and the inexpensive speakers that came with the Yamaha. I was not looking for the best in s...

Setting Scroll Wheel Settings in Linux Mint 18-Semi-Solved

Recently I purchased a Roccat Tyon Mouse and installed the Linux Software. Everything worked perfectly except that the scroll wheel goes up and down in 1 line increments. This is way too slow. So I'm thinking that the Roccat Software was lacking because it didn't have the same Wheel Scrolling Utilit...

Canon 8120 Printer won't print Photos On Rear Tray

I have a Canon 8120 Printer, the 8100 printer driver is installed. It's connected by a USB Cable. When I try to print a 4X6 photo on the rear tray. Re: no public key available (SOLVED)

Well I used the fixes to take away the nagging request for my key each time I start Google. But it created a new problem. Google used to remember the passwords for gmail and other programs if I signed out. For example if I shut google down and reopened I would show logged in. Same with this forum an...

Re: Any Way to Make Shutdown Quicker?

Looks like I may have found one solution unless someone has another one. When I said that all my programs were turned off, I began to think. Are they really turned off. So I checked and found that my VPN PIA Private Internet Access was still running when I shut the computer down. I turned it off fir...

Easy Peasy TrueCrypt or Veracrypt Install Mint 18 - Solved

For privacy I tried to install Veractypt in Linux Mint 18 Sarah Cinnamon no luck spent hours. Since that didnt' work I decided to install Truecrypt.
