Re: Photogrammetry for Linux

You can convert your 2-D shape into a path using Inkscape. Then you can import the path and make it into a 3-D object in Blender. You still need to learn those two programs, which is no easy task....

I made these gears from 2-D drawings a while back..

Re: It won't install Gimp 2.10

I like KDE too. LM19+ works well though and I'm using Gimp 2.10.10 via Otto's PPA. The AppImage is another option as well, if you need one. I had to install the latest Python for the PPA version to use my Python scripts FYI.....

Re: It won't install Gimp 2.10

Agree that AppImage is your current best bet. The Otto PPA doesn't have the proper Python included. The flatpak will install about 1 GB worth of support files. I prefer the AppImage for Gimp and recommend Gimp 2.10.10 as that is the stable version.

Which bank is that exactly? I'm curious because BOA doesn't like my FireFox, but has no issues with chrome or Chromium browsers.

Re: SOLVED: Kdenlive v. 19.04 bug / glitch Position and Zoom?

IDK, "Position and Zoom" seems to be an old filter from previous versions and probably why you are experiencing problems with it. No Idea why you can still access that filter though. The "Composite and Transform" filter does the same exact thing, not sure why you haven't tried it. It is included in ...

Re: Kdenlive v. 19.04 bug / glitch Position and Zoom?

For whatever reason, "Position and Zoom" doesn't show up on my search. I used instead "Composite and Transform" filter (which is key-frame-able) on this 4-K video clip to zoom in on points of interest.

Re: Kdenlive v. 19.04 bug / glitch Position and Zoom?

I'm using Kdenlive 19.04 AppImage. It doesn't have Pan/Zoom, instead it has Composite and Transform which is the same thing. It works fine here as I just tested it out. I don't have any glitch like you are getting. Perhaps it has some remnants of the older version's filter that is causing your glitc...

Re: Software for creating DVD movies

I have found that only linux limits it to 99 files, whereas windoz doesn't have that restriction. I live in OZ so we only have PAL which is far better than ntsc. The DVD specifications are just that. It doesn't matter what OS is used. You are confusing issues. 99 Tittles may be the limit, but you c...

Re: Software for creating DVD movies

DVD authoring specs limit movie tittles to 99, if I remember correctly. I don't think any Authoring app will help you here.

I never Author dvd's anymore, only for clients. Most TVs can play video files off a thumb drive anyway.

Re: How to properly read 4K content on Mint?

Your problem is likely because that the 4-k video is encoded as "Variable" frame rate HEVC. You could always re-encode it to constant frame rate AVC with ffmpeg, that should play well on your system. Variable frame rate is often used to reduce file size, but it's garbage in my opinion.

Re: GIMP 2.10 Missing plug-ins, non-functional scripts ???

If you're talking about python scripts (.py), those need to be made executable. Right-Click on the .py script and select "Properties", then enable it it be executable. They should then show up in Gimp. No need to do this for .scm scripts however.

Re: How to properly read 4K content on Mint?

mp4 is just a video container. It can house many codecs. Check the video properties in your player. For example, h.264 is AVC and h.265 is HEVC. It could also contain other codecs like VP9, Mpeg-2 or XVID.

My 4-k video file uses h.264 (AVC) encoded @ 100 Mbps and it plays fluidly in VLC on my system.

Re: GIMP 2.10 Missing plug-ins, non-functional scripts ???

Alternatively, you can have your plugins, scripts, brushes etc in a custom folder location, then point to them in Gimp's folder location settings. If you already have all your plugins somewhere, just point to them in the folder location settings within Gimp.

Re: How to properly read 4K content on Mint?

I shot some 4-k video last week and it plays fine here. It plays better on vlc than xplayer though. I don't have a GPU card, but I do have an i7 cpu. What codec does the video use? AVC uses much less resources than say HEVC, for example.

Re: GIMP 2.10 Missing plug-ins, non-functional scripts ???

Yes, copy all your plugins, scripts, custom patterns and custom brushes into the new folders. some old scripts may not work properly and may work if correctly edited. All the ones I need work fine after modifications.

You may want to go to a site like gimpchat.com for more help in this area.

Never used Xfburn before. I have used Brazero before and it worked perfectly. True that LM-19 Cinnamon doesn't come with burning s/w. Just installed Brasero, now ready for my next DVD project coming soon.
