Re: Running Shotcut in repo

I run the shotcut appimage without issues. You get the latest updates that way and is in my opinion the easiest and best way to go. To each their own however....

Re: Flatpaks don't work since 20.3 upgrade

Don't want to tell you what to do and whatnot. I don't care for flatpaks (mostly because of their ridiculously large size), but instead use AppImages. Anyway, you may want to look into that option...

Re: Looking for a good studio software for Linux Mint

If you want a no-nonsense feature rich video editor/compositor, it's hard to beat Natron. https://natrongithub.github.io/ You'll need to learn Node Editing to use it, but it has many professional features. I'm not a fan of Node Editing so I don't use Natron or Blender to edit videos. I've pretty muc...

Re: About the version of ShotCut on repo

You can put the Launcher anywhere you'd like. In your case Sound & Video would be good.

When you right-click on the desktop, does it not give option to create a launcher? If so, then create it there and then pin it to your panel. You can then delete the desktop shortcut.

Re: About the version of ShotCut on repo

Simply create your own app launcher using the menu editor to create the short cut to the executable. Then if you wish, pin it to your panel.

Re: About the version of ShotCut on repo

Before you can use any AppImage, it must be made executable. I use the AppImage version and it loads in about 3 seconds on my system because I extracted the AppImage to my SSD. You don't need to do that, but that's how I run it. You can make a short-cut to the executable just like any other app by u...

Gimp and Krita are also supposed to support heic. I can't test because I don't have any of those files and don't use any Apple products.

Re: GIMP Tooltips Flickering

As a test, try out a Gimp appimage: https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-appimage/releases

No need to install, just Right-Click on the appimage and make it executable, then run it and see if everything works as it should.

Re: Kdenlive crashes on loading a beloved Project

I never used the flatpac. My advise is try the AppImage version instead, it should be much more stable. https://kdenlive.org/en/download/

I gave up on flatpacs long ago because of excessive size and other issues.

Re: tsMuxerGUI on Linux Mint Gnome

Yeah, I used to author Blu-Ray disks a few years back and TsMuxeR was used quite a bit to make the compliant streams I needed for the Authoring s/w that I used at the time. I haven't burned a Blu-Ray disk in years, so have no use for it any more these days.

Re: tsMuxerGUI on Linux Mint Gnome

TsmuxeR is very old s/w. I believe I've used it in the past (3 or 4 years ago) in LM Cinnamon. I can't remember how well it worked, maybe it failed, not sure. The only thing I used it for was to multiplex/demux Blu-Ray compatible streams. I don't have a need for it any more these days. Pretty sure W...

Re: Cut - Edit movie

Your posted question is too vague. Are you looking to edit video, or just make hard cuts? If the former, than ShotCut would be a good choice. If you just want to make hard cuts without re-encoding, then I would use ffmpeg. It will do the job in seconds. I'm sure there are other tools that can do tha...

Same goes for Pix. I don't know why the OP is so confused by this?
