I tried installing the APT package from the official site but i keep getting this: W: Can't drop privileges for downloading as file '/var/cache/apt/archives/partial/adobe-flashplugin_1%3a20161108.1-0ubuntu0.16.04.1_amd64.deb' couldn't be accessed by user '_apt'. - pkgAcquire::Run (13: Permission den...

Re: i think i was having TOO much fun with the live usb

Without knowing what those "random things" are, it is difficult to help you with specific issues. However, it is indeed possible to wreck a Windows OS using a live Mint USB or DVD. I've done it on several occasions, with excellent results. Seriously though, it's quite possible you've corr...

Re: Can i remove the weird fading animation from firefox ?

inkoalawetrust, is there some reason you refuse to give us the information we need in order to help you solve your problems? You have stated that you can't install anything because you don't know how to. The usual way to install software is to use either of the tools that Mint has provided for you:...

Re: Can i remove the weird fading animation from firefox ?

You're not really helping anyone to help you, you need to tell people the version of mint you are using, desktop, hardware would help, then a screenshot or video clip of this mysterious thing happening with firefox - I suggest opening a terminal - press ctrl+alt+T and paste this code in with a righ...

Re: Does using the live USB slowly break it ?

breaking a lock shouldnt hurt the electronics, or is that some sort of intrusion detection security lock. but if something like that was installed i wonder why it is not being used to switch the device on and off. btw why dont you look around for computers that people just trash? because NOBODY dar...

Re: Can i remove the weird fading animation from firefox ?

Maybe nobody is responding because they don't know what you are talking about. I sure don't; I never see any weird fading animations. How about installing a screen recorder - SimpleScreenRecorder is a good one - then record what you are seeing and post it on Youtube or some other video hosting site...

Re: How do i install flash player on linux mint 18 cinnamon ?

i use 17, so i don't know for sure. adobe & pepperflash is probably already located in 2 places for you, should you desire to install either. menu>adiministration>software manager. or menu>adiministration>synaptic package manager. that is probably how it is layed-out, all ready for you to install a...

Re: Does using the live USB slowly break it ?

"Does using the live USB slowly break it?" Yes, if you are writing to it. Maybe a block writes, maybe it goes pop and gets retired. Reading is no different to any other chip; you can read it continuously for years without any damage. On the 760 there's a hasp+hole for padlocking the machine. You pu...

Re: What made you switch to Linux Mint?

yes and no. it might make the boot take a bit longer, but once it's loaded, it's as fast as not having persistence. Reason is the ISO loads first, then the updates or added programs are loaded to the ramdrive, the updates overwriting the original ISO files that have changed, and then it runs just l...
