Re: Steam now lets you play Windows games on Linux

Games seem to be working fine with just the 390 drivers though I have only tested two so far with one being The Witcher 3. The screen tearing though in Cinnamon is horrible. I didn't know Cinnamon was still having issues with tearing otherwise I would have stuck with Mate. Sounds like next release o...

Audio Bug?

If I go into sound settings and increase or decrease the volume it also increases and decreases the slider for the subwoofer. Adjusting the slider for balance also adjusts the slider for fade. Re: Steam now lets you play Windows games on Linux

Anyone know if you will always need bleeding edge video drivers for using Proton? I tried using the terminal to install the latest Nvidia drivers but that was a no go and am worried about having to always wait for the drivers to be officially released before being able to use Proton. I hope that wil...

Re: Help With Timeshift Restore

Yes I thought I would be safe just clicking next as it looks like only the first option is highlighted for me. Thanks for the help and I assume that once I do the system restore the terminal commands I used that didn't work will no longer be affecting the system in any way?

[SOLVED] Help With Timeshift Restore

I was trying to install the latest Nvidia drivers for Steam Proton and I followed the instructions Steam states should be used. Also watched a video saying to do the same thing and another post stating these commands should only be used on Linux Mint 19 which is what I am using. Anyways I used these...

Update Manager Error

I have a problem with update manager. Re: your TOP games

American Truck Simulator or Slime Rancher when I am just looking to relax.
Mad Max when the adrenaline is pumping.
Metro 2033 and Last Light are both very enjoyable.
Portal 2 when I want to challenge my brain.
Mount and Blade Warband or Half Life 2 are also a must have I think.

Some very good points and I haven't seen that killer penguin before but here are a couple more that I always enjoyed: http://i.imgur.com/5Z4Z5m5.jpg http://pre02.deviantart.net/5f71/th/pre/f/2013/120/0/7/killer_penguin_by_dwarf4r-d63m71y.jpg They are too large to be inserted as an image. Re: Why did you switch

I thought Windows 7 was fine until Windows 10 came along which caused issues when installing some updates even after a fresh install. Never had those issues with Windows before. So I was prepared to install Windows 10 despite the negative things I had heard about it. Installing Windows 10 informed m...

Re: Doesn't my Desktop look pretty :)

Very nice. I was searching for backgrounds recently and stumbled on this one which is considered to be glitch art I believe. So I did a search for more glitch art but I didn't really care for most of what I saw. This one seemed different from all the rest. There is order behind the chaos. Or is ther...

Re: Major Internet Hack the last few days, what should we do?

Exciting times ahead of us. Just wait till every electronic device is wired into the net. Toasters, flashlights and washing machines. There will even be very popular social media sites just for toaster owners where you can compare upload and download speeds of your toasters, what new kinds of toast ...

Re: Verifying ISO on Windows 10 - Please help!

Do you have 7zip installed? As far as I remember that is what I used to verify it on Windows. When I downloaded the ISO it didn't download the text file I needed but I ended up stumbling across a post that had the info I needed in it and it matched with what 7zip showed.

Sorry about that. Yes there is a terminal window icon on my taskbar. I think I did -fxz instead of -Fxz and I didn't know about maximizing the window and the text getting cut off. Re: Error Message on Startup

My audio and video seem to be working fine. I have tried different proprietary drivers for Nvidia to see if that would make any difference. I also plan on upgrading my video card so if that is the problem and getting a newer model might solve this then I might not have to worry much about this. I ho...

Error Message on Startup

Hello I am having a small problem with Linux Mint 18 Mate. Everything seemed fine until I ran update manager as well as updated the drivers. Now when Linux starts I get the error message SND_HDA_INTEL 0000:00:1F.3: Failed to add i915_bpo component master (-19). From the research I have done I know i...
