Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

I can clean up that code quite a bit. Those edits were just using copy/paste to represent the idea. I kinda liked seeing the whole thing go uncontrollably blaring red all of a sudden! -but wondering if the whole active bar should be represented by the current color. It looks good and clean, and clea...

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

Is the whole thing supposed to turn red? or it turns the whole thing each successive color? I don't know what the intention was because the original wasn't working correctly using the "alarm" part anyway, -obviously why the original code had a 0 there.

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

Oh, my bad.

looks like alarm is something else. I thought that was a 3 stage setup, but looks like 2 stage but then where alarm just turns the whole gauge red. But I think it's not working correctly anyway.

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please? [SOLVED]

These gauges are absolutely awesome, but is it possible to make them more so? They have the feature of turning yellow at high CPU usage which I think is in the range of 95%-100% The CPU usage percentage starts as a grey color. Would it be possible to make a yellow color at "medium" range ...

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please?

good work. Also, if you just put two files together in a single directory, like this example, then you could have the same equal success with this line: lua_load = 'gauge.lua', -the difference is that ./ part, but in that case they would be equally the same exact result as what you were doing. if yo...

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please?

ok. well, get the .lua to load and it'll be fine.

either get the path right, or the filename, or both.

Re: Can anyone isolate the code for one of these gauges please?

that line is wrong: lua_load = '/home/logansfury/.conky/gauge_template/daneusx-gauge.lua', because conky is not working right there. either the file path/name is wrong or something like that. I don't why you do that, using absolute paths all the time, and you are the one to edit it into that. If you...

Re: Can't make sound work at all

Did you test that 6.5 kernel yet? That hardware is quite new.

Update Manager at lower right, shield icon, "View" menu -> Linux kernels. Install that 6.5, reboot.

Re: Programs not in Software Manager

this app is a rare case that is the opposite of the general in both cases. HA! Wow. Amazing too, I have yet to see an .appimage that did that, that's good news to learn. Yea, I didn't look at the program I just went on the generic idea. -clearly not the best generic idea in this case. well it...

Re: Moving existing Home folder to a separate disk...

Does this come down to personal preference? Yes. You could, for example, think of the non-system-config-related personal /home, where all the personal data will be stored, as "personal data". This data would likely be useful on any system you use, after a reinstall, during distro-hoping, ...

Re: Programs not in Software Manager

They list both a .AppImage file, (that apparently can update itself?) and a .deb file, among RPM and Pacman ones too. .appimage is not typically made to update itself, -it's just a one-shot deal, you download and run it. If you want the next newer one, then you download that one and run it. the .de...

Re: can I get the percentage of total space used from a mounted drive?

fs_used (fs) File system used space. fs_used_perc (fs) Percent of file system used space. you can get it from a partition for sure. If the partition is actually "total space used from a mounted drive?", then yea, otherwise it's only the amount of that partition. Obviously you can do math ...

Re: What is the complete list of possible conky gauges?

I think the sky is the limit using those 3rd party ring gauges. If you can come up with any data with more than 1 point, then it can be a candidate. You specifically mentioned ring gauges so I'm going on that concept. I mentioned it another thread, you have start and end and max points. You can gaug...

pretty sure the ring code should calculate 0 to max, over the full scale of start to end, all automatic.

Re: Looking to make my own stand-alone circle-gauge/ring-graphs. [SOLVED]

Code: Select all

name='exec', arg='($(cat /sys/class/hwmon/hwmon3/temp1_input) / 1000)',
the lua file is running conky commands. you can just use the obvious directed conky version of hwmon 3 temp 1 or whatever, no extra math needed, and not needing to convolute insane terminal activity.

name hwmon
arg 3 temp 1
