Re: Restart Conky when resuming from Suspend

Great news! Yes, I'm not sure on where the problem lies. Is it in the current Audacious code or Conky? I would guess one or other of those packages could've changed enough to where the problem became present. I didn't really look into that though since it would involve changing one or the other. -ma...

This would be of interest in "figuring out" some deep workings of some things:

The scheme of this bogus name topic comes out of there.

Re: Restart Conky when resuming from Suspend

I found the same issue here. In fact, if you are not even running Audacious but use that conky script and never even open Audacious or start any songs it's the same result. -found a mention of it on the conky github. However, some conky code like this would solve the issue: ${execi 3 playerctl statu...

Re: [PROGRESS] Linux ate my disk!

Host (Win10) is 3840x2160, Guest (Mint) is 3840x1986 -- I run the VM in a VBox window (not full-screen). But within Win, you can make that vm window size whatever, that doesn't change the client operating system. I can run mint at 800x600 and stretch it all the way across my host screen which is tw...

Re: [PROGRESS] Linux ate my disk!

Mint 18.3 doesn't handle 4k that well, -it's like almost a decade behind in development(I'm exaggerating but you should get the point). You're saying 4k resolution, I'm saying it doesn't make sense based on that previous info. Look in that System Settings App, choose the Display icon and go from the...

Re: [PROGRESS] Linux ate my disk!

Good job on finding that info! You should always get over the complaining part and get right to the problem/solution thing like you are doing here. It's better. You can get results like that. Just complaining, that's not doing anybody any good. And it's just a simple thing of when I read the post I'...

Re: When registering, why must I submit a password that's at least

I personally think it's because "Mint" holds contempt for "You".

I had no problem signing up in here, maybe the forum admin was busy that day and didn't bother going out of his/her way to take a personal vendetta against my tiny life.

Ahhh, ho hum.

Re: [SOLVED] Linux Mint 19.2 XFCE (64-bit): the menu button does not work, and a permissions issue.

Also to mention it again, as Larry78723 already mentioned: Also, when you create a partition it is owned by 'root', not the user. ..in relation to using GParted(on the live session). But it will still do the same on an installed system too, because it runs as root. But Disks does the work as the cur...

Re: ATI Catalyst for Radeon HD 5770 on Mint xfce 20.1

Compiz either lacks some very usable features of xfwm or I didn't found them yet (alt+tab window switching, gtk themes, I've used compiz and there was no problems with either of these functioning normally. Maybe on some version or another I think I remember the default compiz setup maybe didn't inc...

I would do it with the buttons on the monitor.

Or using interesting redshift settings.

Re: Conky External Scrtipt Not Displaying

Ok, I realized another thing. Many of the commands can not be nested, which is unfortunate, but in this case, this is probably a better solution than having to revert to a lua solution which is just making it all the more convoluted. Anyway, simple solution, use the $eval function: #${exec /home/jay...

Re: Conky External Scrtipt Not Displaying

change the conkyrc to something like this #${exec /home/jay/temp/dvr_openchannels_d} ${lua conky_wtff} and in the configuration block you add something like this: lua_load = 'wtff.lua', create that .lua file in the same location as the conky script, otherwise you can't use that relative path above a...

maybe xenopeek will be able to understand how to do it. I will use the page: https://www.linuxmint.com/searchengines.php and click at the google icon at the bottom. Re: Restart Conky when resuming from Suspend

I didn't know if you can see some obvious issue with exponential thread creation, maybe there's no issue with that. the current script is using conky audacious function and separately audtool externally. do one, then do the other. and test it without audacious too. -is it even a surety that audaciou...

Re: New user need a path added

That path is already added on a default install.

You shouldn't want to add a user path globally into the system, you should prefer to use a user based option.

The default setup already gives your user /home/dannygarrett/.local/bin and /home/dannygarrett/bin

Re: The computer won't turn on if you don't charge it

We've only just reached 5.13 . ;) Unless Fedora has a different process and/or version scheme. Yea, I don't know, I just did a quick search, it was unclear to me, but it looked like they're doing a bleeding edge scheme for sure. So I guess stable would probably be at least 5.11. :D The point being ...
