Getting rid of automatic Printers connection

Hi, Being connected in my office through the network of a company, several printers are always identified (localhost). I don’t use those printers and never will. Each times I have to manually suppress them, so that they don’t appear anymore in the "Printers window". But they will automatically reapp...

Re: New Install Google Earth Pro problems after LM19.1 upgrade

Hi, I do have that problem too https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=63&t=285411&p=1578263&hilit=Google+Earth#p1578263 it seems possible that the new version is not universally compatible, depending on your graphic card, etc. You may try with older versions https://support.google.com/earth/an...

[SOLVED] Get rid of Flash Player

Hi all, How to get rid off Flash Player (ideally in command line, or anything else) ? A quick review on the forum only provides answers on how to install it or fix issues with it. This stuff has been a source of insecurity for years, so using a Linux distro with that “Trojan” is a no go. I don't nee...

Re: Firewall of LM Forum Blocking Tor

Hi Moen, A working/functional email (versus a disposable email) does not mean it is “real” in the sense there are information related to my real identity or even IP. There are still services that can be used through Tor (registration, etc.) without all these checkings and counter-checkings (phone, S...

Re: Firewall of LM Forum Blocking Tor

Using Tor to go to a site that requires logging in doesn't really make a lot of sense... after all, logging in means not being anonymous. Sorry but I don't understand. If you log in in your real Facebook account or in your real email account, then it does not make sense, I agree, but otherwise regi...

Re: If Linux went away, what would you use?

"If Linux went away, what would you use ?" Is like asking "If the internet went away, what would you use ? " :D Most of the big servers rest on Linux, without them the world of internet would not be the same anymore, it is the backbone of internet. May be would give a try to BSB or some other exotic...

Firewall of LM Forum Blocking Tor

Hi there, It seems that the firewall of the forum (or may be just its hosting company) systematically blocks all Tor connections now. "Block reason: Your IP address is listed in our blacklist and blocked from completing this request." Is there anything that could be done ? For privacy lovers (as all...

Re: $1 million for zero-days exploits for GNU/Linux based softwares

I think you misunderstood my note ;) They come with the pretext that such activities exist in the darknet to weaken the TBB and the Tor protocol. It so happens that such activities, as we all know (including them) have long existed before the darknet, the clearnet and even the internet itself, all t...

“Without tracking what devices are where, how do you think a cell network would know how to go about providing you service?” Yes, I know, good if only tracking, should have written “spying devices” or “private data trafficking devices” ;) Thanks for the feedback.
