Re: Where is HiDPI in Plasma settings?

It helps to be specific and not make people play detective with your signature. Soooo.....being on a Mint forum, I should have to specify what OS I'm using? Cool...good to know. How much more specific do I need to be? I stated I installed kubuntu on my laptop and that I liked Plasma so I wanted it ...

Re: Where is HiDPI in Plasma settings?

I just installed kubuntu on my laptop And you're asking on a Linux Mint forum because? .......Well, if you had bothered to read my post, you'd notice that I referenced kubuntu as the install on my laptop and that I wanted to try Plasma on my desktop which, according to my signature, is running Mint...

Where is HiDPI in Plasma settings?

I just installed kubuntu on my laptop and wanted to check out Plasma on my desktop since it was so cool looking on my laptop. After I installed it, I restarted and logged in and everything was microscopic. I could barely read anything inches away from my 55inch 1080p display. I tried setting the def...

Re: Trying to install steam.

Hi I am trying to install something for the first time (version 18.3) but I am getting errors. I am using the software manager thing to try and install steam and it gets so far and then just stops with error messages. "The following packages have unmet dependencies. libgl1-mesa-dri:i386 : Depends: ...

Steam Vs. GoG or any other service

So for a long time I railed against Steam because of bad customer service...i.e. none at all, but a few years back, my brother in-law got me back into it. I recently had an, albeit first-world, terrifying thought last night. What happens if/when Steam changes and my content is no longer mine. Is thi...

Re: Managing disk space

I found an article awhile back that helped me discover what was eating up some of my extra disk space. The culprit ended up being Timeshift. If you don't wan't to read the article, the command you're looking for is

Code: Select all

Re: Default sound output changing on its own

BTW your sig says you run 18.3 Gnome. There's no Gnome edition of Mint, and if you've installed a Gnome DE you need to specify that. Apologies....I figured Gnome DE was implied as I'm on the Mint forums and 18.3 is the current version. You'll need to provide some useful system info (make/model as i...

Re: [SOLVED]How to reset an applications resolution back to default?

In case anyone else runs into this problem, I found the settings in .config/flare and deleted the configuration folder. For some reason, purge didn't remove it.

[SOLVED]How to reset an applications resolution back to default?

I recently installed FLARE from the Software Manager. The first thing I did was set the resolution to 1920x1080. It asked me if I wanted to keep those settings and I clicked "yes". Now all I see is a black window with the FLARE icon/text in the center of the screen while the music plays. I tried del...

Re: Dell 4k 32" and XPS 15" scaling problems

I thought this would be simple BUT after reading copious amounts of peoples experience I'm left 'dazed and confused'! Q. How do I setup up both displays to the same resolution but with the 'Laptop' display having a different scale (HiDPI) to the 4k one? Specs are: Dell XPS 15 4k (internal Nvidia 96...

How do I to create a "Game" directory within Gnome...

I'm looking for a reasonably easy way to organize my games. I use Steam and Lutris, but this requires manually adding everything. Is there a gnome extension or script I could run that could throw all my games in one folder, or perhaps a front end that adds them automatically? When I used Gnome Ubunt...

Default sound output changing on its own

My default audio device seems to change on its own. It's not a big deal to change it, but I'm curious how I could go about fixing it.

[SOLVED] Can't install Virtual Box 5.2....conflicting/missing dependencies

I had VB 5.2 installed and was trying to install guest additions so I could see shared folders from my host. I followed this guide and ran sudo apt-get install virtualbox-guest-additions-iso and somehow that uninstalled VB 5.2. So, I installed VB from the software center, which I forgot was 5.0 and ...

Re: How do i change lockscreens wallpaper?

In his op he mentions settings found withing the "login" settings, ergo its implied he found the appropriate settings. Where do you read in the starting post the word "login"? I don't find it and my browser, doing a site search, does not find it also. I meant to put 'lockscreen' in quotes. See, its...

Re: How do i change lockscreens wallpaper?

You'll find this in the 'login' settings, I believe. Not in anything called 'lockscreen'. I can't find settings under that name. Some more questions: In which field exactly did you define the picture? (A screenshot might help to clear this up.) You did surely not do this in the lockscreen settings,...
