trytip wrote:delete all your connections in network manager and reboot

Deleted all ethernet connections and rebooted. No internet connection on restart. Launched the VPN client and just-like-magic, I have connectivity again.

I've broken something, somehow. :-(

Any other thoughts of things to try?

Re: malfunction with VPN client, default gateway hosed

Hi "petrasr", I think all you have to do is click the Network Manager icon, and "Disconnect" from any VPN connection (not delete them all??), refresh or restart your browser(s), and you should be okay. If not, then restart your computer. If you have set automatically connect to VPN on your local IS...

Re: malfunction with VPN client, default gateway hosed

Hi petrasr, The 159.254.0.0 line is simply identifying a second local network attached to your network interface. Your default gateway appears to be intact as 192.168.1.254. You can tell it is the default gateway since the Flags section has a G assigned to that line. Also, general routing rules fol...

malfunction with VPN client, default gateway hosed

Ran out of time on my VPN service and was trying to add time to my VPN client. Guess I pushed the wrong button. The script opened a browser but it would not connect to the company website. It would not connect to any website. At that point, I exited the browser and restarted Firefox. No connection t...

After long firejail session, X11 problems on boot

Had a daylong session with firejail on firefox. On initial boot the next morning, I had a short boot delay and then some message about an X-session lasting less than 10 seconds. The boot script must have run error-handling routines because it booted after a short time without further intervention. I...

Re: mint 18 mate new install, weird situation

The website link was posted in the first post. I have not heard of firejail but if it's a portable isolation sandbox, sounds like just what I need.

Re: mint 18 mate new install, weird situation

I've been using the system daily for a week and have never encountered it asking me to mount another encrypted disk. The dialog box had a pro feel but was not asking for money. I was so startled that I failed to take a screenshot. The only new things I had tried prior to this event was installing Ch...

mint 18 mate new install, weird situation

I have a week-old install of Mint 18 mate with all updates. Mint has it's own disk all to itself. I had firefox locked down to the point where I could not get "autotrader.com" to function even after granting the website temporary access (no-script, u-block, et. al.). I decided to install an unprotec...
