Re: high quality audio on linuxmint

Good audio quality? What does this have to do with computers? Healthy ears - and an idea of good music (Yes - that's where it gets difficult...) O.K. - whatever: First of all you need really good loudspeakers. Secondly, a good amplifier. Then you can connect whatever you want - it sounds really good...

If Google doesn't like you, you can switch to Chromium, Slimjet, Opera or Vivaldi (this is not a complete list...).
All these browsers do more or less the same thing.

Re: Strange shape of cyrillic small letter 'b'

I asked the thread-opener if the same problems occur in Bulgarian or Russian - these languages use the same Cyrillic alphabet - as far as I know... And if not - then Good Night for Cyrillic! The good people can then switch directly to Mandarin or Hindi or just to the Latin alphabet... But ...

Re: webcam problem

My keyboard lights itself. Although you may not be interested in the light from the webcam, I am. I don't like everything to look ghoulish. And I didn't "do it" but I'd like to be rid of it. I suspect, but I'm not sure, it is some sort of low-light feature -Howard I would be really interested in a ...

I would be very interested in a light from my webcam - then I could light up my keyboard.
I wouldn't care much about the color.

How did you do it?

Both Liberation (as for your LibreOffice document) and DejaVu are mentioned as affected.
I looked at both fonts with Font Manager "character maps" (Greek and Cyrillic) and with "special characters" in Libre Office and found no errors.

There the Cyrillic "Be" seems to be confused with the Greek "Delta".
Does the same effect occur if you use the Bulgarian or Russian language package?

Re: Does Mint get slower over the years?

That may depend on hardware - but my in every way cheap computer runs better than ever with Mint 18.3 and Kernel 4.15.0.29. No comparison to the original Windows 7 Home for the silly ones - and significantly better than with Mint 18.0 and Kernel 4.4.x which I had originally loaded. That means better...

This question, whether flatpak is a virus, is also very controversial in this forum

Seriously: flatpak is part of Linux Mint since version 18.x
Take a look at your startup settings to disable entries about flatpak if necessary.

So, your iMac is built in 2011 and therefore shipped without DVD.

Re: reverting to high sierra os

What kind of iMac do you have - year of manufacture and so on...? What was the original system? Do you have an original system DVD? If not, you can - with a very patient search - find entire macOS systems to download on Apple support pages. It could be, however, that a visit to the next Apple store ...
