Re: Software that you would like to have for Linux

I don't like Blender as well, seems counter-intuitive program for me. While I have sorta have to agree on Blender, to be fair it isn't a CAD program. CAD has some different needs then general 3d modeling and animation software. For general 3d stuff, that's one area where Linux isn't shorthanded. So...

Wine OS

Many, very many complain about Wine - and about lack of GNU-Linux Mint compatibility with MS Office, various state tax declaration programs and PDF... Why not a stable Wine OS? Straight from the box and iTunes compatible. Payable with a convenient monthly subscription. Would be a good startup - woul...

Warning: by persistent inquiries one will end up as PREBCAK...

MATE users are also welcome to try firejail. At some point you're superuser squared - or something.

Re: Mint Software Manager

Well, I installed Gnome Software and it works halfway - for example triple entries from the same program, others are not displayed. And yes, flatpak is gone - that was the main thing... It doesn't matter: compared to my two remaining macOS installations (El Capitan & High Sierra) everything runs rea...

Mint Software Manager

Do I need Mint Software Manager?
With the complete deletion of flatpak (according to "easy linux..." by Pjotr) the Mint Software Manager program has also gone to the eternal hunting grounds.
Is Synaptic package management good enough, or are there any reasons to reinstall Mint Software Manager?

Re: Software that you would like to have for Linux

form.Z - a CAD/3-D modeling program. Called unusable by many, I find it absolutely logical and reminds me of the work at the classical drawing table. Continue to use it under Mac OS 9... - Computer Stone Age so to speak - but what the hell - it works. Blender? I have great respect for this work and ...

These are the peculiarities of Mate and Cinnamon.
In Mate (or Gnome 2...) you can do things like that.
In Cinnamon?

Sometimes the drive is simply inferior. Price and brand are not important.

Which was your previous Mint?
Very, very carefully asked: Did you happen to load one or more flatpak or snap programs - maybe you could run funny updates or something in the background?

I also don't see an option to configure the keys in the preferences. Only to set the buttons of the pen.
...
Search with Synaptic Packet Manager for "KDE Wacom" - there you will find a Wacom configuration program.
Maybe it'll help you set it up.

BTW: Kind regards from the guild...

Re: After upgrade to 18.3, cpu load is heavy

Something is quite wrong with your machine. My weak Atom needs about 15% CPU with Vivaldi running on Mate and the temperature is 48° C.

Maybe try Kernel 4.13.xx or 4.4.xx?

Such a thing (however given...) stands around decoratively with me and it would appeal me to convert it as a small Ryzen/Vega Mint system.
Maybe with Tara?

Re: Anyone else having trouble installing Vivaldi browser?

I have noticed that both in my native 32-bit system and in 64-bit systems in the virtual box, I click the exit icon in the installation window too quickly . It seems to be fully loaded - but it isn't. Wait a few seconds ( slowly count to ten...) after loading then it should work. A restart won't hur...

Re: Opera Stable is fixed

Apparently there have been complaints in the Opera Forum from many users. In my case about 4 months too late - I have gotten used to Vivaldi and learned to appreciate its advantages. Arrogance, as Opera has done in the last few months, by first kicking out 32-bit (without any notification) and short...

Re: Reminded yet again, why I hate Win10

I don't help people with Windows issues any longer. It's not merely a matter of ethics with me: I just refuse to be a part of the game which makes fools out of its customers by not only fighting stupid battles, but (often) fighting the same stupid battles over and over again. They can with switch t...

Re: music app for android phone to sync with linux??

After disabling Google and Sony music applications (deleting doesn't work on unrooted Android...), I use Odyssey downloaded from F-Droid. I do the "synchronization" myself - primitively by hand - uploading and downloading pieces of music to the smartphone as it suits me. I know - incredibly old-fash...
