Launcher icons not scaled properly on Hi-DPI in Cinnamon in 4.6.7 (Mint 20)

Hi, I've got a fresh install of Mint 20 on a 4k monitor and the "taskbar" panel launcher icons are showing up as too small to be usable even though the system is configured to run DPI at X2 (see link below). The panel launchers are tiny but regular application icons are the correct size. I...

Re: No audio on fresh install of Mint 20

Hi again! Those two commands fixed the audio to get it working again, so it works on initial boot but still doesnt work after I suspect and resume. Is there anything else I can try? What's happening is the HDMI profile on the GP104 High Definition Audio Controller is still being selected after the r...

Re: No audio on fresh install of Mint 20

Hi,

I've tried that tee command and it's removed my device altogether! It seems like there is no audio device in my system at all, according to pauvcontrol. Is it easy to revert that command? Perhaps change it to 0? Or is there any further logs I can take at this stage that would be helpful?

Re: No audio on fresh install of Mint 20

Re: No audio on fresh install of Mint 20

Hi @mreen, thanks a lot for the help, here is the url: https://termbin.com/khy6n EDIT: I was able to get audio working by starting pauvcontrol without sudo and then on the "Configuration" tab I was able to select "Analog Surround 4.0 Output + Analog Stereo Input (unplugged) (unavailab...

No audio on fresh install of Mint 20

Hi, I've no idea where to start to debug this issue. In mint 19 I had some trouble with audio but everything was stable after some esoteric change I made to the system and I was happy with that. I upgraded to 20 today and I haven't been able to get audio to work. I've tried installing pavucontrol an...

Re: Power, Quit and Logout buttons are low res

Icons: Mint-X-Dark

Actually, if I change it to Mint-X it changes the icons entirely and they ARE Hi-DPI. So i guess I could leave it like this, or otherwise do you know how I could still fix the old icon pack?

Thanks for the help!

Power, Quit and Logout buttons are low res

Hi, I'm running 19.3 with a 4K display and the Power, Quit and Logout buttons are Low resolution. Is there a way to get the resolution of these icons increased so they are Hi-DPI like everything else? It's causing me more OCD discomfort than i'd like to admit. An example of what i'm talking about is...

Mint 19.1 Tessa won't suspend and keeps resuming to the login screen

I recently upgraded from 18 to 19.1 and since then when I select suspend the machine will go through a suspend process but then come right back online again. Does anyone have any suggestions to troubleshoot this please?

Re: Linux Mint 19.1 stops installing when it gets to Grub2 installation

I wanted to update on everyone on my last reply. Today I built a USB stick using a Macbook with Etcher and the mint install worked first time. Previous to this I was using unetbootin on linux and it wouldn't work, this might help someone.

Re: Linux Mint 19.1 stops installing when it gets to Grub2 installation

I'd like to add that I am having the same issue. i'm trying the Tessa install, with USB, onto a brand new ssd and I have the grub install error. The machine is connected to the internet, as I saw in other threads that this may potentially be the issue. Previous installs were fine on this hardware. U...

Re: HDMI + Sound + Mint 18

This started happening to me since I updgraded. 17 was fine. The audio keeps switching to the HDMI audio output source and I have to use "sudo pavucontrol" to revert the audio. This is really annoying!
