Re: [SOLVED] latte-dock

latte in my PPA builds against and depends on the version of frameworks in the kubuntu backports PPA (as the latte PPA description says).

So it can't be installed without that.

Hi all. I know that mint is going to be dropping KDE. I was just wondering if in the mean time, will they be updating the KDE frameworks, etc?
No. You have KDE Frameworks 5.36, which is the newest version possible with Qt 5.6.

I've installed Kubuntu 18.04 and it's very good. Not as pretty as mint of course but non the less very good and quite stable Distro.
I would say it's a good sub for Mint KDE.
Good to hear. :)

Are we still be able to install KDE if we choose? I use many KDE programs like K3B.
Unless Mint makes some very odd conflicting packages/changes in their own packages, which is highly unlikely, then all KDE things in the ubuntu archive should remain installable and useable.

Re: KDE 5.8 support post April 2016?

Well, Kubuntu 18.04 LTS Bionic Beaver (/me shudders at the name) would be the natural move. That should come with 5.12 LTS Plasma.

However, the great thing about the Linux ecosystem is that there are many wonderful alternatives. :)

Re: KDE 5.8 support post April 2016?

Whether they will provide a further upgrade of Plasma on the 16.04 package base or not, I don't know. Just to be clear, I meant the Kubuntu backports PPA maintainers may or may not make Plasma version higher than 5.8 available on the package based used by Linux Mint 18.x. I don't have a definitive ...

Re: Anyone else noticed this bug, KDE 18.2?

@alichuck : If you want this update, you can do this: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports sudo apt-get update It should then appear in Update Manager for you to mark and install. No needs, as the backports PPA is already enabled by default in Mint 18.x KDE. I should also mention that ...

Re: keditbookmarks package missing for KDE "Konsole" (backports)

I did a fresh install of Mint 18.2 a few days ago and can confirm that this works ok in that and in normal kubuntu, so seems something has happened to your install to uninstal the correct package. http://i.imgur.com/QT1igO2.png I couldn't find the package in the repository at all. Unresolved bug in Qt most likely: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-56610

Only tripped up on with proprietary Nvidia drivers and some cards (mine seems ok)

I want to change the menu button icon back to the default one that comes installed with Mint KDE 18.2 (the black and white one) Right click the application menu button, and select: http://i.imgur.com/KNAhULK.png then http://i.imgur.com/1Dry5Lr.png to get http://i.imgur.com/wgquWgG.png and apply.

Re: Uninstallable KDE?

Mint KDE ships by default with the Kubuntu backports ppa enabled in it's sources to provide the KDE packages.

https://launchpad.net/~kubuntu-ppa/+arc ... /backports

You error is caused by not having that enabled, but the mint meta and artwork dependencies requiring packages from that archive.
