Critical Battery Level settings on Cinnamon

Is there a way to set a different percentage and a different action when the laptop is running on critical battery level? Even for the low battery level because changing the critical setting may influence low level if these two levels are too close For instance, I'd like to set the critical level to...

Re: Boot went to (initramfs)/busybox after a reboot

Update: I found this question on askubuntu and I decided to follow @keepitsimpleengineer's answer. When I type sudo fdisk -l I obtain the following output: Disk /dev/loop0: 1.7 GiB, 1859526656 bytes, 3631888 sectors Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 51...

Re: Boot went to (initramfs)/busybox after a reboot

I used it because it is suggested on almost all Ubuntu's wikis...and I don't have a snapshot (yes, I wasn't too smart  )

[QUITTED] Boot went to (initramfs)/busybox after a reboot

Hi there, Here are the steps that put me into this trouble: -I installed Windows 10 in an empty partition -The installation went fine and I was still able to boot Linux Mint from a BIOS tab -However, I wanted an easier and faster way to boot Windows or Mint so I used Boot Repair from a Live session ...

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19]

Very helpful and detailed instructions, thank you. After those commands the battery discharge rate dropped down to about 7W :D I'd like to suggest for the previous post to edit the command string sudo sh /home/yourUsername/.nvidia-off and substitute it with sudo sh ~/.nvidia-off because some forum u...

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19]

You should enable nouveau.ko before installing any new kernel, to test if suspend now works. Be sure to reboot after disabling or enabling nouveau.ko . Thanks One thing I would check is how power management is affected with nouveau.ko disabled. I suggest installing powertop with the command sudo ap...

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19]

[...] In the next days I will test it :D [...] @roblm, thank you for the help. I just tested your fix and It works very well! :D A simple question: what if, in future, will I update the kernel? Will the new kernel require the deactivation of Nouveau module? I've just switched to Intel driver from t...

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19]

zangetsu, I just want to make sure there is no confusion. With option 4, you can still install the Nvidia driver and switch to the Nvidia GPU whenever there is a need for more graphics processing power, for example, in more graphics intensive games. However, if you want to suspend, then you will ne...

EDIT: switching to Intel drivers makes the suspend function work like a charm.
Even if do you install Nvidia driver? Or when are you under nouveau driver? Because in the first case I can't freely suspend and happens what I said in the OP... Instead, in the second case I am okay too.

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19 XFCE]

If Nvidia Settings looks like the picture below, with most of the categories removed, then that’s normal with no Nvidia driver installed: prime-profiles-empty.png Thanks. It looks exactly like that :D If you want to test the 4rth option, then reinstall the Nvidia driver. The nouveau kernel module w...

Re: NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19 XFCE]

The suspend problem on laptops with Optimus technology, when the Nvidia GPU is enabled, has not been solved. This topic in the Nvidia Linux Graphics forum discusses that issue and has been going on for over a year: https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/1017185/linux/problem-with-resume-from-susp...

[SOLVED] NVIDIA driver and "suspend session" problem [LM 19]

I am on LM 19 XFCE edition. I start by saying that with the same laptop but with LM 18 KDE edition I never had this problem: My laptop has got a NVIDIA 920M GPU in "Driver Manager" I found and installed nvidia-driver-390 version 390.48-0ubuntu3. Installation and reboot went fine and all nvidia stuff...

Re: Middle click with three fingers tap on XFCE edition

After several imprecations, I abandoned libinput and switched back to synaptics driver. Then I found out that synclient TapButton3=2 command works for what I was searching for...so, I created an executable script with the following code: #! /bin/bash synclient TapButton3=2 exit 0 and I run it, autom...

Re: Middle click with three fingers tap on XFCE edition

You can test for output from your touch pad using xev run in the terminal. I tried xev command and when I tap the touchpad with three fingers there is no output in the terminal instead, when I use the middle click with USB mouse, It detects the button pressure and then the release...this is the out...
