Re: For some video files thumbnails are not generated

Try this: open any folder with file manager (Nemo I suppose), go to modify, preferences, preview, increase #GB in the option "only for file lower than.." or similar (sorry, I have Mint in Italian), choice a number o GB you want. If a video is 12GB size but you set 10GB than the preview won't be crea...

I'll monitoring for a few days. Thanks again :) Edit...

[SOLVED] Firefox 59.0.2 issues

Do any of you have problems with the latest Firefox update? Web Spotify does not play the next song in a playlist at the end of the previous one. From time to time eats a huge amount of memory (up to 2.5 GB) without reasonable explanation. No problem with 59.0.1 with the same addons. I tried to crea...

Re: Cinnamon crashes after kernel update

I had the same issue after update from 4.10.0-42 to 4.13.0-26 (Cinnamon crash)
I Installed 4.4.0-109, rebooted and removed 4.13 and 4.10. All fine here.

Re: Is there a program like CCleaner for Linux Mint? Would such a program be pointless?

He asked for a tool similar to ccleaner, bleachbit is the only software I thinked about. I added to be careful in using it.
If used wisely (cache, thumbnails, temp) it isn't too dangerous. The important is not to use any tool avalaible if you don't know what it does.

Re: Setting Waterfox as default browser

How did you set the launcher to waterfox? In order to set it as preferred application I edited the main Menu and added waterfox into Internet category and set waterfox as default browser. In preferred application I can correctly see it and works fine.

Re: eating memory

Applets, extensions and desklets are usually hungry of RAM.
I solved removing all of them, reducing windows effects and other cool esthetic elements and if used RAM by Cinnamon grows up I restart it (right clic on the panel, Select Troubleshoot > Restart Cinnamon).

I have 4 USB HDD, on 2 of them SMART is avalaible but not for the others. It depends of the HDD's controller, I think.
