Re: Remote desktop

I need to view the desktop so putty won't work.

I'll try teamviewer, but I thought that was paid, thanks.

[Solved] Remote desktop

Hi,
I need to access a Mint desktop via a windows machine and wondering if anyone has any suggestions or links to tutorials? The ones I have found are for linux to linux or ssh access.
I've tried tightvnc without any luck.

Re: Security in Linux. Any other ideas?

Why uBlock Origin? What is the difference between it and AdBlock Plus? Every review I have seen rates uBlock Origin better than AdBlock Plus, which confirms my own observations. Also, uBlock Origin was designed to go light on your CPU and RAM resources. I made the switch when AdBlock Plus was bough...

Same with me, so far I have been exporting the bookmarks to my dropbox to have a backup copy. I haven't found a good alternative yet.

Re: Upgrade to 18.3?

Thanks to the replies, I kind of figured I would just leave it at 18.2 as it is working well at the moment.

Upgrade to 18.3?

Sorry if this has already been covered, but I am running and very happy with 18.2. Is there any real good reason to upgrade to 18.3?
Should I just do it to keep current?

Thanks

I had the same issue earlier in the week, I didn't even uninstall it. I just reinstalled it and restarted the browser and it works for me now.

Re: Media server question - audio mostly

well yes I did, but it will start as a music source first and if it works well maybe I would use video as well. I am already using plex for video and really only use it on my tv's don't need it on the android devices.

Re: Media server question - audio mostly

Does there need to be transcoding if the app is a music player?

Maybe I just need to setup a share and find an app that will catalogue music from a local network?

Media server question - audio mostly

I am looking to setup a media server, not sure which version of Linux yet, that will primarily serve music. Right now we are mostly listening to music via youtube on our android phone/tablet through bluetooth speakers. I think it would be much better to have a spare computer serve that music (mp3 fi...
