Mint 19 keyboard language settings constantly resetting after reboot

Problem after upgrade from 18.3 to 19 : Every time the system starts, I have to log in under US American keyboard settings, before I can change the settings back to my normal German setup using the sidebar GUI. Mint 16-18 did not display this behaviour. Next reboot : set back to american english aga...

Touchpad config after upgrade Mint 18 -> Mint 19 [SOLVED]

After upgrading from Mint 18.3 to Mint 19 I found my ALPS Touchpad on a Fujitsu A556 laptop unable to act on double tabs and twofinger scroll gestures. Couldn't do anything about it in the GUI system settings. Found the solution here: https://www.ubuntuvibes.com/2017/04/how-to-configure-touchpad-in-...

Re: Commander issue (Double/Gnome/Midnight/Tux)

UPDATE

Double Commander does the trick, but shows a different (device) name than Nemo.

Nemo shows LG P710 (type of telephone), while Double Commander shows a device named gvfs.

Commander issue (Double/Gnome/Midnight/Tux)

I don't know why, but neither of the following Commanders is showing my phone, when connected via USB

Double Commander
Gnome Commander
Midnight Commander
Tux Commander

while Nemo does it like a charm.

Any hints :?:

Same here with Logitech BT Mouse M535.

The bluez developer team seems to ignore the issue for years, considering the vast amount of unsolved forums submissions I found during my web searches. :x

Yes I did.
But I wanted to skip the empty sectors (as listed in the MFT).

Launcher panel / Task bar removed - how to get it back?

I accidentally removed my launcher bar from the bottom left, at the right side of the Mint button in Cinnamon 18.1

It now sits at the right bottom, left of the status panel.

Any hints, how to get it back to the left?

Re: Backup-Tool for images

The problem is, that multi partition SDCards, (like of a RaspPI) read from the card reader slot, are not being represented as a HDD (like sdx) in the software, but as distinct partitions. Taken from your second screenshot there are 2 drives, sda and sdb. sda seems too big for a sdcard and is mostly...

Re: Backup-Tool for images

Take a look at qt4-fsarchiver (for Mint 17.x) respectively qt5-fsarchiver (for Mint 18). Looked into it. You need one of those PPAs: ppa:dieterbaum/qt4-fsarchiver, ppa:dieterbaum/qt5-fsarchiver-64-bit or ppa:dieterbaum/qt5-fsarchiver-32-bit.
:)
Will look into it.
Thanks.

Backup-Tool for images

Hi all. I am currently looking for a backup/imaging tool suitable to make images from both USB sticks and SDCards as well. But I want it to a) don't write empty sectors and b) compress the image file on the fly so I don't need to run a separate compression cycle on the resulting image file afterward...

Yes, it does. But because its listed in "modules/actions" - GTKhash is not listed in "modules/actions" but in "modules/extensions" only.

The "check sha256" has been there before I installed GTKhash, already.
