Re: Google Chrome Browser

An extension should block chrome and you have to remove manually. This will not lose any settings, passwords, etc. Go to settings > Turn Off > select-clear bookmarks, history…...> You will log out of your account > Log in accept the conformations of your account and probably the search will be the ...

SOLVED. Google Chrome Browser

As title says, I have it installed but the last few days when ever I do a search it comes back as a Yahoo search results. I have set the home page to Google and removed any thing related to Yahoo (other search engines)but nothing seems to make any difference. Has any one else come across this? and h...

Re: vlc display & Lucky Backup issues 19.3 cinnamon

Good to hear, although I'm not about to do that just for VLC but I have 2 other systems running the same and it works on them so I can use it there if I need to. Also I'm running Cinnamon so might not even have the same effect. Curious though did you install VLC from repositories, terminal or their...

Re: Updated to 19.3

Yesterday I bit the bullet and did a clean install of mate 19.3, and all is good again. I only did this because I had noticed some problems else where.

Re: vlc display & Lucky Backup issues 19.3 cinnamon

Try this FIRST; Remove/purge VLC: sudo apt autoremove --purge vlc* Reboot. Reinstall VLC: sudo apt install vlc If that doesn't work; Create a LM Live CD/USB and boot from it. See if VLC runs correctly. If not, I would reinstall LM. This is exactly what I was going to do, run a live CD and see if VL...

sudo aptitude install ttf-mscorefonts-installer

Worth a shot.
Gave it a go and it didn't make any difference at all. I think this problem has some thing to do with qt5 but have no idea what.

Re: vlc display & Lucky Backup issues 19.3 cinnamon

I've just uninstalled vlc and deleted the config folder and rebooted. After the reboot I re-installed vlc and it's still the same. I've attached 2 pics, not very good ones but you can see the issue.

Re: vlc poor display 19.3 cinnamon

I have the same thing on my 19.2. VLC starts okay but the drop down box's in the menu are all blank, my guess is the text in the drop downs are in black which is the same colour as the boxes themselves.

Re: Updated to 19.3

I'm about to delete the error that keeps popping up but before I do how do I find out if the home folder is from 19.3? My assumption now is you upgraded to 19.3, added that Xapp applet to the panel as it tells you to, and then reverted the system back to 19.2 while still using that same home folder...

Re: Updated to 19.3

If it come with 19.3 could it be incompatible with 19.2, just a thought. I'll try deleting it next time and see what happens. Will let you know, probably tomorrow some time. Oh, you're on 19.2 now? Maybe update the thread title. ;) If you're on 19.2 then you won't have that applet and if your home ...

Re: Updated to 19.3

Nothing much, and you could just re-add it again later if you wanted to. Maybe it's a bug with the applet (which is new in LM 19.3) and not a problem with your system after all. Re: Updated to 19.3

You may have to click "Don't Delete" before being able to access the Alt+F2 feature. Or you disabled the keybind, dunno. But if you reloaded it in a terminal and are still getting the popup, I suggest rebooting and seeing if it persists. Best run an fsck via the recovery menu while you re...

Re: Updated to 19.3

In that case I have no explanation assuming the file system corruption didn't exist prior to the upgrade already - there's nothing in else in 19.3 that could cause such a thing as far as I can see. But as long as you are and remain good on 19.2 it probably doesn't matter all that much. Hi gm10, No ...

Re: Updated to 19.3

Unless you had a crash or power loss, possibly an incompatibility with the 5.0 kernel. Note that you can run 19.3 with the 4.15 kernel series (the same that's the default for your 19.2), you're not forced to upgrade the kernel even if you upgrade to 19.3. No crash or power loss, 19.3 was giving all...
