Re: Landing on a street

RollyShed: Your defensive posturing is unnecessary. You obviously missed the point (Drop Bears). It was a joke and I hope/believe lsemmens understood that. Try reading the last paragraph in my first post and the line above my name. If you noticed lsemmens and I later chatted about traveling and I'm ...

Re: Landing on a street

lsemmens: What a wonderful world we live in. I so tire of those who just can't help but princess all the time (between work and family - I never had time). As a electron microscope field engineer, then a process control engineer. I've traveled all over the US, parts of S. America and Canada. I even ...

lsemmens: I think you may be under a false assumption!!! Why do you believe that any American would care if "you stayed away or not"? Perhaps, some tourists industries or relatives might - assuming your rich. However, as an American I find it odd that a person living with some of the nastiest varmin...

Re: software - serious shortage of good board/card games

Minux1: There is a relatively simple solution to your issue - "Get Involved". Linux is not Windows (hopefully never will be). It's a community of users who share and help one another whenever possible. Package creators are always searching for help (not just coders), including beta testers and donat...

Re: What do you use for Annotating Screenshots and PDFs?

Kendoori:

I'm wondering, if your experiencing this problem with your Shutter install?

https://itsfoss.com/shutter-edit-button-disabled/

Apparently, it limits the "edit" function/button in Shutter (especially with respect to saved screenshots).

Hope This Helps

calymea: Another disc burner you might wish to try is "k3b". https://kde.org/applications/multimedia/k3b/ I've used it for years and have never had an issue. It's one of the things I've always appreciated about Linux. Trying free software, until you find the software package that works best for you....

Re: Davinci Resolve Installed as root unable to run

Which version of Davinci Resolve did you install? Do you use a recent Nvidia graphics card which supports CUDA 3.0 and the proprietary driver? I found an installation guide on the site listed below: Site:https://www.linuxuprising.com/2018/06/how-to-install-davinci-resolve-15-in.html That ...

Re: Whats everyone currently listening to?

OTR... At the moment I'm listening to "Vanishing Point" randomly mixed with "X minus One and Dimension X". Truly do enjoy listening to these and recall many of them from my youth. Hiding my crystal set (at night) under my pillow with a wire clipped to the gutter outside my window. I also remember tu...

Re: Anyone got any interesting hobbies?

DAMIEN1307 Sounds like a good hobby - doesn't it. Not if you ask my wife... I'm constantly reminding her that the so-called junk in my workshop (she refers to it as "The Dungeon") has value. I seriously doubt this is the appropriate forum for her responses. LOL Based on your statements, it appears y...

Re: Anyone got any interesting hobbies?

Since my disability (approx. 13 years ago), I've really enjoyed rebuilding/refurbishing old radios (tube type or transistor). Many people have asked to purchase them and I've refused. I only share them with people who promise not to sell or barter them and I never charge for them. My entire family h...

Mintymandy34 I'm using XnView version 0.84 X64 and found this page a few years ago. It identifies XnView's predefined shortcut keys. mrmajik45 Not sure if you have read this (https://www.addictivetips.com/ubuntu-linux-tips/watch-twitch-streams-without-a-browser-on-linux/), but apparently twitch is somewhat of a resource hound when viewed from a browser. The site suggests alternative software (Gnome Twitch) for watching twitch str...

Re: Pypar2 or equivalent??

I don't personally use Pypar2, nor do I use Mint 19.0. However, I did a little research and found you can download the Frontend Deb. file from here: http://pypar2.silent-blade.org/index.php?n=Main.DownloadPage It's listed in their "Sources" section. I also noticed that it's listed in the Ubuntu repo...

Re: Lost all power options Sarah 18 menu, logoff only action

Did you use the session menu (drop down from your user name) or the action buttons - as selected in the General/Appearance section of the action buttons properties menu? Hopefully, you used the session menu instead of cluttering up you panel with individual buttons (unless of course you prefer that)...

Re: Lost all power options Sarah 18 menu, logoff only action

Peterjack: If I understand you correctly, your searching for the Actions Buttons to perform "Log Out, Restart, Shut Down, etc.". If you user name doesn't appear in your panel, simply right click on the panel and select "panel - add new items". Then select "Action Buttons" and hit the "Add button". T...
