OS pile-on clean-up request

I would appreciate your help getting rid of the clonezilla image partitions without having to re-install OS's. I have a OS traffic accident on my new computer. The system came with Windows 10 that I need to keep. It has a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. I tried to clonezilla the old dual boot computer onto...

dual boot image on new computer only boots in recovery mode

I had a dual boot laptop with a 1 TB HDD. I used clonezilla to make an image of the whole drive (7 partitions) before sending the laptop to the manufacturer for warranty work. The laptop was never seen again. I now have a laptop with a new Win10 on a 256GB SSD and the image from the other dual boot ...

login needs forgotten password, encrypted drive w/external encrypted drive

Looked around. This is THE bleak situation it seems. If your suggestion is to wipe everything and start over, I don't need help losing data. I would like to recover the external drive using the original unchanged password (I know) on another device I CAN access, and just brute force everything else ...

Re: 'Themes' option will not open and other questions

Noob here too. THEME: Do you mean the Menu / SystemSettings / <Appearance>Themes icon does not open a window? or Do you mean you don't have an icon? OTHER: You may have another issue if you have about 15GB for root dir and another partition for home dir. I would back everything up some where else be...

Re: LM often doesn't boot on my MBM2 Pro

The SD Card is installed and active. Using shutdown 130 has been booting, except it is not hibernate. Starting to check overnight shutdown using GUI methods. Hard to tell if it is behaving or not because I have too many switches involved that I switch during the boot process sometimes ( oops,...

Re: LM often doesn't boot on my MBM2 Pro

 Successful reboot! Ran: ~$shutdown 125 Restarted after more than 12 hours off. I will update if it fails an overnight reboot from a Terminal command as above, or any of all the GUI options to Shutdown (it was failing to reboot doing last time I checked). By the way, the SD Card is active and...

Re: LM often doesn't boot on my MBM2 Pro

I had no success with the bios change disabling SD card in mintbox mini 2 pro. Suspend works fine. You just have to shut it down all the way by unplugging it or holding the power button until it shuts all the way off or it will not reboot from terminal:/shutdown now, logoff GUI + shutdown GUI, or me...

Re: Wi Fi not working on new install- Linux Mint 19 Cinnamon

I had the same problem. It was probably lack of sleep. I logged into the router and found that while I had repeatedly verified that I had all the settings where I wanted them, somewhere along the way I turned off the wireless radio and also repeatedly neglected to select the "Apply" button, off scre...

Re: [SOLVED] dmesg output question

Laughing for a good while on that one. I see that kernel building is a distant prospect for me. Thank you again.
