Re: One LibreOffice can open .dbf file, one cannot?

Yes, it's Lubuntu 18.10

I just don't understand why a later version of LibreOffice cannot open a .dbf file while an older version can. Or maybe it's a Lubuntu issue.
Anyway thank you.

Re: Hard drive or browser problem? or something else

With 2 gigs of RAM, I would suggest Mate or Xfce. Cinnamon may be a bit too much. I used Linuxmint 18 Cinnamon on the same laptop before without any problems. Is LInuxmint 19 Cinnamon significantly more of a resource hog? By the way, I'm using Lubuntu 16 right now as I'm typing this and I have twel...

Re: Hard drive or browser problem? or something else

Thank you for your suggestions and I will also try the terminal commands. But does my inxi show any problem at all? besides the possibly insufficient RAM. Also, the laptop is a triple boot. Windows 7, Linuxmint 19, and Lubuntu (older version). In Windows 7, I had several firefox browser tabs open, h...

You are welcome. It's still just a workaround. The Alt+F2 issue will be properly fixed in the upcoming LM19.1 point-release.
...and that will make both pkexec and gksudo work?

Re: Running pkexec in terminal works but not in Alt-F2

That worked, thank you. But how come it does not work with nemo?

Alt-F2 -> nemo-pkexec results in:

Failed to execute child process "nemo-pkexec"

pkexec nemo does not work either, but no error message. Alt_F2 window just disappears.

Thank you.

Re: Pressing Alt-F2 does not work?

Hey gm10 , I want to update the kernel, what's the best way to do it? Last time I updated, it messed up my system - videos became poor quality and processor overheats easily.
Thank you.

Re: [Solved] Cannot make Image Scan work in Linuxmint 19

Hello pastic!

In comment #98 , this line, and ONLY this line, is what I did:

Copied the 3 files from /usr/lib/sane to /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/sane

That's it. Nothing else. =)
