Why it doesn't update ?

Hi everybody !

On another laptop I have noticed it's stuck on Linux Mint 18.3

I have checked the Update Manager many times to see if appers the item "Upgrade to Mint 19.1" and writing on the terminal: sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get updgrade but nothing.

What can I do about it ?

Icon for notifications

Everytime there is a new update, the icon appears to advise you for install them.
Why don't you use the same way for every new system update ?

For example: from Linux Mint 18.3 to Linux Mint 18.4

When the new system update is ready for download and installation, the icon pops-up and warns you.

Notifications on new Mint versions

Hello to everybody !

I have just noticed that when a new version of Mint comes up, it's very difficult to see it. There are no notifications and I have to check it sometimes manually on the Updates Manager.

Is there a tool to warn that a new version of Mint is ready for download ?
